Wedding Bands North East, Tips For Planning Your Wedding Evening Celebrations

By admin On August 1, 2010 No Comments

When you begin planning your wedding in the North East of England there are some things you should sort out right away. The most obvious one is to set the date. You are no doubt planning well ahead so try to pick a date that is not going to clash with other important dates in the calendar either personal or national. For instance it is best to avoid dates which are anniversaries of the death of a close family member, you don't want your future mother-in-law weeping at the altar for the wrong reasons! Also avoid major holidays like Easter or New Year as, although your prospective guests may not be working, they may well have other plans. Nowadays it's quite easy with the aid of Google etc. to check whether your chosen date might clash with major sporting events like the Cup Final of the opening of the Olympics, if your fiance is a big rugby fan, check for major international matches.

The next job is to book those things which can only accept one booking per day. The two most obvious of these are the venue for your reception and the entertainment for the evening. If you have your heart set on a particular venue, get it booked right away, particularly if you want the place to yourself. It's much nicer to be the only wedding party in a venue rather than be in a large hotel with 4 or 5 function rooms operating simultaneously.

If you are planning an evening party which most good venues want you to have and which has become a standard part of the wedding day, you'll need some entertainment. Whilst many venues have their own DJ or ones that they recommend, many are not very entertaining and there is nothing more embarrassing than a newly wed couple staring at an empty dance floor whilst most of their guests have gone off to the bar. The best way to prevent that happening is to hire a good north east wedding band . They will entertain all of your guests young and old and get them dancing all night to a wide selection of music which spans the past 60 years of popular music.

When you start your search for your wedding band north east you need to have some points you are going to look for. The basic ones are:

1. Are they an established band or have they just started out? If they are well established and have been around a few years, the chances are that they will be able to cope with most situations that could arise. If they are new to the business their inexperience will show up on your wedding night.
2. Does their repertoire look like the kind of music you want to hear at your wedding or does it look like they are going to play music that only they want to hear. You need a band that will get all your guests on the dance floor and keep them there.
3. How much do they charge? Most good bands won't quote a set price on their website, because it will depend on several factors: date and venue being the main ones. Do bear in mind that playing for your wedding is usually the equivalent of a full day's work, so if you are employing professional musicians - and you should be - don't expect them to work for less than any other highly skilled worker would.
3. What will they wear? You don't really want your entertainment for your most special day to turn up in tee shirts and jeans do you?
4. Are they available for your date? This should really be the first thing to ask as; if they are not available you need discuss it no further.
5. Will they learn your 1st dance song for you or at the very least arrange to play a CD of it if they can't perform it live.

However daunting this all may sound, rest assured that it is well worth the effort to find a suitable live band as it will make your evening celebrations just that, a celebration.

Planning your Budget Honeymoon

By admin On July 30, 2010 No Comments

A honeymoon should be a time to take a vacation from the craziness of planning the wedding, get to know each other under the best and most romantic of circumstances, and see a bit of the world you've never seen before. But what do you do if you are far shy of being able to afford renting a summer beachside bungalow in Waikiki? There are actually a myriad of creative ways that newly wedded couples on a budget can get the vacation they deserve without breaking the bank.

One of the easiest ways to cut down on honeymoon costs is to save money on travel. Budget airlines can get you to your destination just as quickly as major airlines, but can leave with you with more to spend on Mai Tais and guided tours once you actually arrive. Often, the best airfare deals can be found directly on their websites, rather than on travel sites. While the list of destinations these airlines offer can sometimes be limited, certain planes on certain budget airlines sometimes feature major perks like leather seats and satellite TV.

If you want to go to a major, popular destination, but can't quite find the cash, consider traveling in the off-season. Many tropical destinations like Hawaii and the Caribbean are beautiful even in the winter and fall, and traveling during those times means lower airfares, cheaper hotel rooms, and sometimes even more affordable restaurants bills. But what if you are getting married during prime vacation time? Well, nothing says you have to take your honeymoon immediately after your wedding. Taking a few months off might even help you recover from you wedding expenses and leave you better prepared to take the honeymoon of your dreams.

But what do you do if you are really in the hole? Find a campground somewhere close and spend a week or more roughing it with your loved one. Starry skies, midnight bonfires, and intimate quarters can give you all the romance of taking your honeymoon far away, but it can be done cheaply enough to fit anyone's budget. You would be surprised just how good s'mores taste while under the influence of wedded bliss.

Of course, the best way to save money for your honeymoon is to save money on the wedding itself. Consider having the ceremony at someone's house rather than a church or community center. Great-looking decorations for your wedding can be bought at dollar stores or discount super stores. Have close friends help set up the decorations. And be sure to find cheap wedding favors that everyone enjoys. It is surprisingly easy to buy unique wedding favors for every one of your guests without spending too much.

But no matter where you spend your honeymoon or how you are spending it, the important thing is the you are spending it together. Take this time to celebrate all you have accomplished together, and to appreciate how wonderful it is to be starting such a major chapter your lives.

Planning Your Wedding With Your Own Homemade Wine

By admin On July 29, 2010 No Comments

Many brides and grooms-to-be are feeling the economic pinch and are carefully considering all their options when it comes to the expenses of their wedding. If you're like many other soon to be married couples, you might be thinking about providing your guests with your own homemade wine. With savings of potentially thousands of dollars from the alcohol portion of the wedding reception bill, making your own might make a lot of sense. And at as low as three dollars a bottle, why not?

If you are considering providing your guests with your own wine to save money on the wedding expense, there are some things you should think about and plan ahead for. Although you can purchase winemaking kits that will be ready to bottle in as little as four weeks, it would be best to not wait until the last month before your wedding to start your kit.

Give Yourself Some Time

Most wines, just like we all hope for your marriage, will improve and become even better with time. Although those four week kits can be ready to bottle in four weeks, it still really ought to age at least another month in the bottle before the subtle characteristics will even begin to show in the aromas and tastes. With a reds, especially if you decide to spend a little more and choose an Ultra-Premium kit, you might want to consider aging it 6 months to more than a year before you serve it at your wedding. Even white wines can benefit from some aging prior to serving out of the bottle.

So one of the very first things you'll need to plan is when to start your home winemaking activities in order to allow it to age to some degree before your big day. But don't worry - making your own  will probably require the least work and time of all the other tasks you will need to do in order to have that beautiful wedding. The amount of time on your part from the start (beginning the fermentation) to the end of the winemaking process (bottling) is about two to three hours for 90 bottles.

Red Or White?

You may know your guests' preferences for either red or white wine and can plan the numbers of bottles of each based on that. However, if you don't know, it's a good idea to have at least one bottle of each for every four people who will be there. You should count on each person consuming about half a bottle at dinner time. Then, have extra bottles of white for those who will insist on that. Some surveys suggest that there are more people that enjoy white wine exclusively than there are that will only drink red. Although many connosiers will recommend either a red or a white depending on the meal being served, most people are not that picky and will drink the type they enjoy the most.

Your Place Or Theirs?

Where are you going to make the wine? Many home winemakers do make their own at home - even if their homes are small and don't have much space. A single batch of five gallons does not take up that much space - all it requires is enough room for a pail and then after the primary fermentation, a five gallon glass carboy. A water supply close by is handy but not necessary. But if you're going to be making enough to serve to a hundred guests or more (the more you guests you have, the more you will save by making your own), you'll likely be needing to purchase at least two kits that will yield 30 bottles each. If you have space restrictions at your home, many local winemaking supply shops also offer the winemaking on their premises for a modest additional fee. They'll even do most of the work for you and assist with the filtering and bottling.

Is This Legal?

Liquor laws are different in every jurisdiction. Some jurisdictions have a limit (but who's actually doing the counting?) on the number of gallons of homemade fermented beverage an individual can make in a year. Some wedding reception venues might not like the idea of you bringing your own alcohol to serve your guests as they mark up the cost considerably and make a huge profit from it. If you have any questions about any restrictions in your area, you may want to have a chat with the proprietor of your local winemaking supply shop. They should have the knowledge and experience to guide you. But generally speaking, you shouldn't have a problem with making your own wine for your wedding. And if serving it at the reception is a problem, you can still consider giving away the bottles to your guests as a thank you gift for their attendance at your big day.

Now, while you are thinking of your guests toasting you with the drink you've made, be sure to look at Part 2 where we'll discuss some other things you will want to think about and perhaps add some extra touches to your efforts.

Ian Hugh Scott has been making his own wine for years. As well as wines from commercially available kits, he has discovered the pleasures of experimenting with other ingredients such as black currants, strawberries, blueberries, and even ginger and parsnip! How to Keep Cool When Planning a Summer Wedding

By admin On July 28, 2010 No Comments

So you have been to your local Borders, surveyed the rather giant collection of marriage books and marveled how anyone even gets through this entire planning process. And why all those marriage planning books are so thick! This is totally comprehensible - it's a bit on the frightening side.

Organizing a marriage is surely not something that you can throw together in a matter of days, and there will definitely be a few projects along the path to keep you busy. When you find something that 'clicks' with you, go with it! You have just crossed off one other thing on your marriage list.

Second, choose a good filing system before you start. Order a box of file folders or an accordion file with multiple sections to hold all your contracts, notes, for example. If you are truly formidable, consider investing $20-30 in a labeler at an office supply store - it keeps things particularly neat and arranged.

Third, Get started! Begin tackling items on your marriage list. Study the first group of to-do's on the list. Don't attempt to do all these at once - take one at a time and consider putting the others on your calendar so you know they will get looked after, just not all today.

Fourth, don't be scared to delegate. Family members and attendants will quite likely be prepared to help take on some of the planning jobs - if they offer, take them up on it! If there are parts of the planning that you know you do not want to be ( or care to be ) without delay involved in, ask for help.

Fifth, have FUN. While some jobs will take more time than others, there will be others that may balance out all the tough work - treating yourself to a day at the spa for instance. Also, consider subscribing to a number of bridal mags - when you believe you have run out of marriage concepts, these glossy guides are a great pick-me up.

Sixth, and ultimately last, don't worry that you will not doubtless be ready to do all of these things. Everything will get done, in due time, and you'll see all your tough work pay off when things actually start to get together.

So start planning, and have fun! Because after all is said and done the most important part of your wedding day is that you enjoy it. Don't treat your wedding like some sort of carnival. You are not Barnum or Baily you are not there to put on a show you are there to show your love. Not to show the size of your bank roll. Personally sometimes a nice ceremony in the back yard is the most beautiful one and the least expensive

Also if you are looking for a way to save money you can always consider buying a used wedding dress. Buying a used wedding dress can save you a lot of money. Don't worry about the fit a qualified seamstress can tailor it fit you just perfectly to make you look beautiful on you special day.

The Abc’s Of Planning A Wedding

By admin On July 28, 2010 No Comments

Planning for a wedding is not an easy task. It could be an extremely stressful, and trying time, especially as the big day approaches. When couples worry about coordinating all of the details of the wedding, just to make sure everything goes according to plan.

Probably, one of the most important details of the wedding that a couple has to decide on is the actual date of the wedding. This is usually the detail that is taken care of first. Factors in choosing a date include: the availability of the venue where the wedding will take place. Availability of friends and family on the assigned date.

Some venues where weddings are held offer discounts on days when traditionally, weddings are not held. Also, the time the wedding takes place also become a factor in the expense. For example, mornings, and afternoon receptions are somewhat more cheaper that receptions held at nighttime.

It is also advisable to set a budget, even before a couple start to make plans. This way they'd be able to organize the details according to the budget they could afford.

Once you've done this, you can now choose a venue for the wedding. Some places offer discounts, depending on the time of year. Just after the holidays, would be a good time to hold a wedding, if you are considering the cost. This time is not considered a 'peak time', therefore the price tend to be less expensive.

For couples who are about to get married, it is important to talk about the size of wedding they both have in mind. The dream wedding of one person might not be that of the other. So it is necessary for couples to discuss details regarding the arrangement of the wedding, such as: the location of the venue/reception, the number of people who get invited to the wedding reception, and the choice of entertainment.

It is important to reach an agreement pertaining to the guest list and the entourage. Whether you want to keep the wedding an intimate affair, in which case the bride and groom will just invite their family and friends; or  maybe, they'd want to make this affair, into the wedding of the century. In which case, the bride and groom get to invite the whole neighborhood, long lost relatives, high school buddies, etc., in  addition to their friends and family. When making the guest list, consider the space capacity of your chosen venue.

Hire a professional to capture this momentous occasion. Sure you friends can take good pictures, and most of them own a camcorder. But for this special occasion, you would want something special, lasting, and visually presentable. So you'd have something to remember this occasion by. This way you could also share them with your friends and family.

Don't forget the cake! It's best to have a tasting first, before settling on a cake. Invite your family and friends, for the cake tasting. This way, this task becomes fun for everyone!

Order wedding invitations. If you want to get creative, you can always print your own invites. This way, you can customize them, and add a more personal touch to the invitation.

Don't forget to start looking for a wedding gown months before the wedding. This way, the bride has plenty of time to make a selection. Also, the groom should make arrangement to rent or buy a tuxedo, preferably in advance also. Just in case you encounter some trouble with the fitting, you'd have some time to make other arrangements.

Couples who don't have enough time on their hands, or just find the preparations that go into planning a wedding too overwhelming, can always just hire a wedding planner! This way, everything gets organized and coordinated for them.

Imaginative Planning Of A Caribbean Destination Wedding

By admin On July 27, 2010 No Comments

Imaginative planning of a Caribbean destination wedding is the key to a fabulous wedding day that you will never forget. A destination wedding is frequently more difficult to plan than a home town wedding since you will normally be doing it from a distance, but with a bit of imagination and creativity then that can work to your advantage.

The fact you are not able to physically check up on the venues for the ceremony and the reception will give you more time to concentrate on what needs to be done from your end. If you take the option of employing a professional wedding planner to run things from the destination end, and you to deal with your end of the arrangements, then that is wedding planning at its best.

However, many brides prefer to do it all themselves, although a certain amount of local knowledge is generally needed. You could compromise and hire somebody to keep the legalities right and look after both the arrangements for the ceremony and reception venues, and also any tours or entertainment needed for your guests during the run-up to the big day itself

A Caribbean destination wedding is not too difficult to plan since most people understand the legal issues involved in getting married in most of the Caribbean countries. However, it is still wise to make sure of what is required before you can marry. There are many countries where you need a week or two of residence before you can be married, and it is always a good idea to make sure that no laws have been changed or amended since you last checked.

Imaginative planning, then, starts off by you deciding where in the Caribbean you want to be married, and then confirming the legal requirements of the country or island concerned. If you want a beach wedding you might or might not need permission, but now is the time to find out, not when you arrive there. You should then decide whether or not to employ a coordinator to help you.

The next step is whether you determine the number traveling with you before booking the reception venue, or take the conventional route and book the ceremony and reception venues first and then deciding on your invitation list. There is something to be said for each with a Caribbean destination wedding since you don't want to book a large venue if only a few can travel to the Caribbean. A compromise could be a beach wedding that, in that part of the world, can be a truly fabulous experience. The beach can also accommodate as many or as few as you required.

If your family is wealthy then you will be able to invite whoever you want, but most young couples who want a Caribbean wedding cannot cover their guests traveling or accommodation costs. You will then only want to invite those that you know can attend, since otherwise you might be afraid of being seen as issuing invitations only to get wedding gifts.

You will likely be doing your family and friends a disservice by thinking that way, but it is difficult not to. Your family and true friends will buy you a present whether they can attend or not, but this is another thing you have to plan for. A good way out of this dilemma is to invite only your closest family and friends that you know will come with you to the Caribbean, and then have a celebration after the honeymoon, the invitations for which can be sent to everybody prior to the wedding.

Assuming that your venues have been decided and booked, and that you are aware of all of the legal obligations that you have to make prior to arriving at the resort or island of your choice, there is little left for you to do. However, a bit of imagination on your part could make the experience even better for your guests who have taken the trouble to travel all that way with you. If your guest list is very limited, provide them with a tour of the island, or a dinner or party the night before the ceremony as a 'than you' for joining you on your special day.

Planning a Caribbean destination wedding seems daunting at first, but these islands are so used to weddings that they practically run themselves. If you use your imagination you can provide yourself and your guests with a wedding to remember for ever.

Planning the Wedding Menu – In Search of the Ideal Wedding Feast

By admin On July 27, 2010 No Comments

Setting a wedding menu can be a daunting task especially for someone who has never planned such an event before. There are many factors to consider when planning the wedding menu. The time and location of your wedding reception, the cost of the meal, the type of foods you want to serve, choice of a caterer, and theme of your wedding are among the most important factors to consider. Many of these decisions will have to be finalized with your fiance.

Time and location - If you're having a late morning or early afternoon weekend reception, you would probably serve a brunch or lunch menu to your guests. For an evening reception, a dinner either buffet or sit down style can be planned. A cocktail party can even be an option which will shorten your reception time considerably.

Just as important is the location where the wedding reception will be held. Banquet halls, country clubs, reception halls, churches or even outdoor locations, ie. parks, beaches, can serve as your wedding venues. The choice of location will surely affect the type of food you serve.

Cost of the meal - The expenses for your meal will be greater if more options are offered. Dinner menu items such as Filet Mignon, lamb or seafoods will be pricier than if you were to offer chicken. Chicken is a popular menu item and modestly priced so this could be a good option if you have to keep the cost down.

Choice of a caterer - Discuss your wedding menu with your caterers and have them come up with recommendations. Make sure they are aware of the budget you set. Many caterers provide complimentary tasting to the bride and groom. You may also choose to include your favorite foods or those of family and friends. Couples may also want to offer non-red meat fare or vegetarian options.

Theme of your wedding - If a couple is getting married Hawaiian style, it would definitely be appropriate to serve a luau. Suggested menu for a luau includes roasted whole Kahlua pig, sweet and sour chicken, coconut rice, roasted vegetable salad, and tropical fruits. For a backyard wedding, barbecued chicken, ribs or pork or other traditional picnic foods ie burgers, hot dog, cole slaw, corn, potato salad can be included. Your wedding menu can also reflect the season of the year. Example: in the fall, depending on how cold the weather is, your guests will surely enjoy some soup ie Squash or Potato soup. Roasted turkey, cornish hen, or rib roast are all popular main meal items for the fall. Serve it with some form of pumpkin dessert.

Planning a wedding menu can be fun for some but can be overwhelming for others. There are many food ideas to consider for your wedding reception. Make the food you serve memorable. Balance flavor and texture of the food with eye-appeal. Serve popular menu items and plan your menus considering your guests' preferences. And, let your menu reflect your ideal wedding feast.

Look stunning on your special day. Find your ideal look from the wide selection of discount tiaras and wedding headbands at TiaraGarden.com.

Planning Thai Weddings: Phuket

By admin On July 27, 2010 No Comments

If you are considering Thai weddings, Phuket can be one of the best destinations. This is because of many reasons. When you consider the range of venues, spectacular scenery and other important factors for weddings, Phuket becomes a clear leader ahead of many other areas or provinces in Thailand.

If you are planning weddings, Phuket may not be the most obvious choice. In fact for many people planning weddings, Phuket is not someplace they have even considered as a tropical destination wedding site. However when you look at the beautiful natural setting and variety of amenities such as restaurants, Phuket really begins to stick out as a desirable wedding destination.

If you are not sure where Phuket is or why it is becoming so popular, here information that you can use to plan destination weddings. Phuket is a province located in the south of Thailand. It covers Phuket Island as well as some of the smaller islands which are located nearby. The area is visited by many tourists from around the world, many of whom are now travelling to the area for weddings. Phuket tourist centers are often based around beaches such as Paton, Kuton and Kara.

Because it is so popular with tourists, you can find many places to hold your wedding. Reception areas can include something as informal as a beach-side ceremony and reception or a reception held at one of many amazing restaurants. Phuket has many different eateries which feature a range of different cuisines. It doesn’t matter whether you love seafood, Asian cuisine or even North American or fusion food, you will be able to find the right reception site. If you are interested specifically in restaurants, Phuket has a number of tourism sites and books dedicated to the options you have. If you want to look at different restaurants, Phuket tourism sites may be your best bet because they are often updated frequently.

If you are looking at restaurants, Phuket has a number of them scattered across the island which specifically cater to wedding receptions. They may be larger venues but many are smaller, more intimate eateries that allow you the privacy and romance that many people are looking for in a destination wedding.

If you are picking a restaurant you should look for one which offers wedding packages. This may make it much easier to plan a wedding if you are trying to do so long-distance. It is always a good idea to visit the venues you are planning on using but if this is not possible, you may have better luck if you pick one which lists wedding services specifically in its list of amenities. This may mean that they will have a more flexible menu that you can choose from for your reception. It may also have better views such as ones of the beach, and may also have special rooms set aside so that you and your guests can dine and celebrate in privacy.

If you are interested in planning a destination wedding, you need to look into Phuket province. You will be pleased that you did.

Out of many Restaurants phuket natives and visitors alike are raving about The White Box for their weddings Phuket ‘ s most amazing weddings start by clicking on White Box Phuket.

Planning Destination Weddings on the Yucatan Peninsula

By admin On July 27, 2010 No Comments

Having your big day in a Caribbean paradise is both a romantic and memorable experience for both the guests of honor and the attendees.  For you it’s the dream wedding in an ideal tropical setting and for your guests it’s sharing a celebration and vacation with friends all-in-one.  With a little advance planning you can be sure to create an occasion to remember for all.

Most people that are getting married and planning a wedding simply want their guests in attendance to have fun and for the event go pretty much as planned. If you get married in a tropical destination, you can virtually be assured that your invitees will have a wonderful and memorable experience, after all they have arrived in paradise surrounded by family and good friends.  As far as planning your white sands, Caribbean Sea destination wedding, that can also be fairly straight forward if you do some basic homework.

Location, location, location!
The first thing you will need to decide is where to have your wedding, but don’t be hasty here.  What is your vision for you wedding in paradise?  Do you envision a small wedding on the beach in a remote location or a more luxurious option at an all inclusive resort? There are plenty of options on either end of that spectrum and lots in between.  The important thing, more than the actual place is the vision you have; once you have that in mind, it’s a good idea at this point to get a local expert on your team or at least an expert on the local area.  This is critical because it is virtually impossible to find the local vendors needed to plan your wedding in Mexico on your own.

In some cases if you pick a specific location first your “expert” is going to be dedicated to the hotel they work with and some of the extras in your “vision” may not be possible.  Going with an independent playa del carmen wedding planning service will give you the initial flexibility to help you realize your vision without being tied to one place.  This can also be an important factor for your budget and work more from an ala-carte approach versus a total package.

Packages are however a good place to start and they usually allow for some flexibility.  Most planners offer some basics that are almost always included in a wedding package like a cake, a variety of ceremonies, flowers, music and dinner etc.  There are lots of other options that can be added or modified of course, but again they at least give you a basis and a start to your budgeting.

In addition to having your wedding in paradise there are lots of fun activities you and your guests can do, especially on the Maya Riviera Mexico.  There are plenty of beach days, snorkeling, scuba, fishing, jungle tours, adventure parks and mysterious Cenotes (underground river systems) throughout the area.  There is no way you or your guests can see all of it on a 1-2 week trip, so get ready for fun!

Advance notice is always a good idea for a destination wedding as it allows your guests the time needed to plan for themselves and budget for the travel expense.  In general, people are excited to be invited to a wedding vacation with friends as long as they have some notice.

We found a company based out of Colorado called the Turquoise Reef Group (www.mexicoholiday.com) that has been doing weddings on the Yucatan and Maya Riviera since the early 1980’s.  They work with a number of smaller beach resorts and hotels directly and offer additional discounts on lodging for groups. Not only do they refer you to knowledgeable local planners, they track all your invited guests and send out reminders for them to book their rooms and keep the brides updated along the way; it makes the whole process a lot smoother.

He works with Turquoise Reef Group and their site MexicoHoliday.com known for personalized service and genuine Yucatan adventure vacations

Treatment Planning and Action Steps for Extra Effort Kids

By admin On July 27, 2010 No Comments

*ACTION PLAN*

The following steps and advice is written in a way that it can be read or summarized to a parent (or parents) struggling with an extra effort child. Some of the following suggestions may not apply for every case, but all together they make for a good strategic plan.

*LEARN TO ACCEPT YOUR CHILD.

Some parents may say, My son is just spoiled! when the truth is that he has difficult temperament. Another parent might say, My daughter constantly pouts and acts miserable when her child has been battling depression due to all the changes at home. Blaming will make it virtually impossible to improve your relationship with your child. Besides, as parents, we must take complete responsibility for our own behavior. The apostle Paul said, You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things (Romans 2:1). We are accountable for what we do whether were parenting a child who is defiant or easy. Your child may be a pain but that doesn't mean you get to be a pain in return.

*DECIDE IF THERE ARE ANY CONTRIBUTING FACTORS.*

Children who have emotional disabilities or difficult temperaments struggle with basic factors that may have little or no effect on other kids. For instance, they don't  do as well with unclear rules or change. Even minor adjustments like temporary schedule changes can upset them, such as when mom or dad work hours of overtime or a new family friend starts spending a lot of time around the house. Other factors like poor monitoring paying attention to bad behavior and ignoring good behavior overcontrolling, or family stress can also affect children with behavioral problems.

*SPEND TIME WITH YOUR CHILD AND LET HIM TAKE THE LEAD.*

Banking time, a technique first developed by renowned ADHD and ODD expert Russell Barkley, can be extremely effective with children who have behavioral problems. The simple act of setting aside fifteen to twenty minutes every day, letting your child take the lead in play, can restore positive feelings in the relationship. The same principle applies to having conversations with your kids. Create opportunities to chat with your kids, following their lead in the conversation. This helps children with behavioral problems to learn how to interact with adults and become more comfortable sharing things with their parents.

*EMPATHIZE AND PROBLEM-SOLVE.*

Empathy has two parts: first understanding how your child feels and then communicating that understanding to him. The goal is to seek to understand before being understood. Its important for parents to empathize, especially with children who have behavioral problems, and particularly when they're upset. Why? Empathy can serve two purposes strengthening the relationship, and helping children understand how and why they feel the way they do. When kids are empathetic, they develop self-control and more social behavior. Many parents tend to jump to problem solving and ignore empathizing. But problem solving will never be successful if their children don't  feel understood. We encourage parents to have problem-solving discussions with their kids on a daily  with the kindness and compassion we don't  deserve . . . but desperately need (see Romans 5:8).

*CHANGE YOUR MIND.*

There is a strong connection between how we think, feel, and behave, and the impact our thinking has on our childs feelings and behaviors. Negative thinking patterns can create selffulfilling prophesies with our kids. For example, thinking that your child is always into trouble will lead you to look for misbehavior and ignore good behavior. As a result, your child tells himself, I  do anything to please my parents, so why try? Ironically, this I don't  care attitude is likely to get him into more trouble with you which is what you expected from him in the first place! It is difficult to change your perceptions about a person. Pray that God will help you see your child in a new light. Ask that you will be able to see your child the way God Himself does.

*REFLECTING HIS GRACE*

When God gives us a difficult child to parent, He also gives us the opportunity to model a Christlike attitude. As parents, we have the ability to reflect Gods respect, love, mercy, and grace to children who really need it in some ways more than we could show to their more-obedient peers. It can be both emotionally and physically taxing to build a relationship with a difficult child. But the benefits are well worth the effort.

Basis, breaking larger problems down into smaller, more manageable ones. Once the relationship is restored, you might consider following more-structured discipline techniques, such as point programs, removing privileges, and time-outs. But in  many cases, once youve empathized with your child you'll find this kind of discipline is unnecessary, even with a difficult child.

REALIZE THAT CLOSE RELATIONSHIPS CAN BE COSTLY.*

The apostle Paul wrote about intimacy, saying: Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves (Romans 12:10). Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position (Romans 12:16). Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another (Romans 13:8).As Paul explained, true love comes at a cost. If we want to experience intimacy, we have to deal with the problems that will arise when we get close to another person. Our child may have a much different temperament than we do, or he might be a challenging, defiant kid. The essence of Christian philosophy, however, is that we treat him with kindness, even if he treats us unkindly.

Some parents believe that if they repay disrespect with kindness, they'll be reinforcing their child's bad behavior. That thinking is backward, though! This fire-for-fire mind-set exists nowhere in New Testament scripture, and it certainly doesn't reflect the nature of Christ. God does not repay our sin with equal sin. Instead, when we repent, He forgives us, treating us  Parents, we know that whether you're raising a challenging kid or an easy one, you don't  get a lot of affirmation for all the effort you put forth. So we'd like to thank you. Take help from telephone counselor.

And as we tell every parent we counsel, we don't  believe there is a trial or situation beyond the reach, love, and care of God (see Romans 8:39). We've seen God do wonderful work in a lot of parents and children. So look to Him with a spirit of expectation. Online therapy can be helpful to get rid of such problems.

Tips in Planning a Beach Wedding in Canada

By admin On July 26, 2010 No Comments

Canada is blessed with its natural beauty that makes it a popular destination for couples looking for a place to have a wedding filled with the aura of romance. Canada with its rocky banks, snow-covered mountains and lush green mounts is almost a dream setting for a romantic wedding.

Canada too has some of the most beautiful beaches. Arbutus Cove, Hanlan's Point Beach, Long Point, Wasaga Beach, Jericho Beach and Sunset Beach are just some of the spectacular beaches in Canada. With these beautiful beaches, beach-themed weddings are certainly something to seriously consider.

The gentle breeze on your face as you watch the waves crashing into the sandy beach and the sun setting is a sure way to lift the romantic mood in anyone. Weddings on beaches are not all as relaxing as the atmosphere for careful wedding planning is needed to make it happen and here are some of our tips to for you to follow.

Decide what atmosphere it is that you want to create- formal or informal.

A formal wedding might require you to wear a traditional wedding dress but an informal one allows you the freedom of choosing the dress you like be it sea-inspired prints or colored attire.

Wedding arches are must have décor for weddings however, if you predict that the wind will be very strong, you better do without it. Candles should be skipped altogether for it will not lit up completely in the presence of wind. You can have torches instead of candles but make sure that the strength of the wind is no more than 10 mph.

Wear the proper footwear. Shoes are not advisable to wear if there is no runner, otherwise, shoes will be filled up with sand.

GO for colors that blend in with the environment.

Don't forget to provide chairs for your guests. No one is keen on having to stand around the whole time.

If you're having an evening beach wedding, be sure to have power source available so that your ceremony can be equipped with proper lighting. Having a wedding in the dark will not be thrilling. The pathways should be cleared of all wirings so that accidents can be prevented.

Don't have the wedding in the middle of the day when the Sun is at its mightiest. This is not good for everyone because of the harmful sunrays. You don't want your elderly guests to suffer from sunstroke. Early morning or late afternoons are the best times to hold the wedding. It's good to have a tent or tiki hut standing by for shelter.

There are many beach or sea-inspired wedding favours to give to your guests. You can choose from seahorse and starfish frosted glass coasters, shell-inspired spreaders, candleholders with resin shell base, starfish bath soap, sailboat picture frame, flip flop floating candles to engraved rock paperweight. All these will create fond memories of your wedding in the minds of your guests.

A bride wearing pearl jewelry will always look stunning and elegant. No matter if you're having a formal or informal wedding, pearl can work for any type. Pearl is great for beach wedding because it is sea inspired. Pearl jewelry can match just about any wedding gown too.

Pearl necklaces vary depending on the length. It may be a choker, rope, princess, collar, matinee and opera. A pearl choker is 14-16 inches long. The pearl rope is 40-72 inches or longer. The princess is 17-20 inches which looks good at both plunging and both necklines. The collar is 12 to 13 inches comprising of three stands of pearls at the least. The matinee is 20-25 inches and it looks best on high necklines. For brides who'll get married for the second time, matinee is ideal. The last is opera which is 27-36 inches. This pearl is long enough to reach the waist so it can be wrapped into two strands to create a choker.

Don't just consider pearl necklace as there are pearl earring that you can wear too. You can wear the classic stud pearl earring for the elegant looking gowns and wear dangling ones for the simple gowns.

Thoroughly plan your beach wedding in Canada, select a practical and enduring wedding favor and look fabulous in your pearls.

How To Save Money When Planning A Wedding

By admin On July 24, 2010 No Comments

Nobody could question the importance of wedding in any couple's life. But with the global crisis that the world experiences, practicality when wedding planning is a must to ensure that the couple will live a longer live without having nightmares on financial setbacks.

When planning a wedding, it always include the attire—specifically the gown of the bride and the suit of the groom as well as the attire of everybody else who is part of the entourage. In fact, the wedding dress or the suit is always a big part of the "problems" any bride and groom experiences in their big day. This is because brides as well as grooms are so anxious on how they will look like during the wedding day. But, experts say that, you don’t necessarily have to spend so much money just to look good. All you need to do is shop around for cheap wedding attire that can fit your taste, style, and preference.

The next best thing that couples could do to save money when planning a wedding is to set their budget and stick with it. For frugal brides and grooms who want an elegant yet cheap wedding dress or suits, it is very important to carefully plan your allotted budget before shopping. When you have a specific budget allotted for your wedding attire, you will not be tempted to feast your eyes on super elegant gowns or suits that would cost you a huge fortune.

In setting the budget, it is helpful to conduct a research about the price range of cheap wedding dresses or suits available in most stores so you can make the necessary adjustments. Always remember that in setting the budget, always allot 10 percent of its total as an allowance. This will ensure that you won't be having so many headaches once your wedding dress or suit choice is out of the allotted budget.

When choosing for a reception venue after the wedding, select those that are near the church or the wedding venue. If you are not going to have a church wedding, it would be best to use only one venue for the wedding rites and for the reception as well. It would be best to know the best places where you make a relatively cheaper reservation. Since you are on a tight budget, don’t include the list of restaurants when looking for a wedding and reception venue.

For souvenirs, look for simple items and designs. If you are really on a tight budget, it is better to opt for simple designs of the wedding souvenir and with lesser details. If you look for these types of souvenirs, you are sure that they are cheap since they are not made of high quality materials or intricate materials.

When planning a wedding, it would help if you find time to surf the internet. Here, you can find stores that sell quality yet cheaper wedding dress or suits as well as souvenirs and other items needed to push through with the wedding.

A Cruise: Planning for the Ultimate Romantic Getaway

By admin On July 23, 2010 No Comments

With the stresses of work, family schedules, finances and kids, most couples need the occasional break - a romantic retreat to rekindle their romance, invigorate their relationship and give them time to simply relax. If you're looking for the perfect romantic getaway that combines worry-free planning, all-inclusive budgeting and romantic sparkle, cruise travel is a great option.

To learn about how to book the best romantic cruise for you and your loved one, keep reading for great tips on everything from what to look for in a cruise ship to how to get the best deals for your spouse.

Opt For a Cruise with an Age Limit

The last thing you want on your romantic getaway is to be surrounded by toddlers on their way to a puppet show at the children's pool. So, book a cruise with an enforced age limit.

Most cruise lines offer cruises that restrict boarding to both individuals 25 and older or married individuals 21 and older. The bulk of these cruises are specifically targeted toward couples and will offer amenities like increased room service, couples' massages, formal dining and couples' activities.

If you're unable to find a cruise with an age limit that's right for you, most ships offer areas, including pools that are adults-only.

Stay Away From "Singles" Cruises

In contrast to couples' cruises, some cruise lines offer cruise vacations that are specifically for single travelers or the 'spring break' party crowd. Unless you want to spend your romantic getaway immersed in loud dance music and terrible pick up lines, you're going to want to stay away from these options.

Pick a Boat Size That Works For You

A larger boat may have more passengers and a less intimate "feel," but it also allows for greater anonymity while on-board ship and a larger range of facilities. When choosing a ship, think about what's important for you in terms of privacy and boat size.

Book for Your Interests

If you plan on actually leaving your cabin, book a cruise that appeals to your interests. If you both love wine tasting, then opt for a cruise that includes shore-side wine tours and nightly wine tasting. If you're into adventure travel, look for something that offers scuba diving alongside rock climbing and spelunking.

Remember, for almost every interest, there's a cruise that caters to it, so you should be able to find just about any specialty you desire.

Get the Balcony

As tempting as it may be to book an inside cabin for a discount, know that the space is small and often windowless. If this cruise is a once-in-a-lifetime romantic treat, it's time to splurge and opt for a cabin with a romantic balcony. When you're watching the stars go by from bed, you'll be thankful.

How to Get Great Couples' Deals

Booking as a couple gives you an advantage. You can often look for "companion" rates that apply to either cabin bookings or air fare to your port. Many cruise lines and some air carriers offer a companion discount for couples traveling together.

Planning a Cheap Wedding – Tips on How to Planning a Cheap Wedding

By admin On July 23, 2010 No Comments

There's no doubt about it, weddings can be expensive and as the average cost of a wedding today is 20 to 25 thousand dollars; the wedding industry is estimated at 25.3 billion dollars per year. However, it is possible to plan a cheap wedding if you cannot manage something that requires expensive stationery, photographers, caterers and dresses. It just requires a little knowledge and imagination to reduce the huge amount that can be spent and perhaps use the savings on something more worthwhile.

Of course the bride will want a designed, hand made dress but this is very expensive but it is something where savings can be made, especially if consider using a second hand wedding dress. After all, if someone else wants to spend two to three thousand dollars on a wedding dress and only wear it once, why can't you make use of it for your wedding day at a greatly reduced cost or alternatively you could do like many men do and just hire an outstanding dress for the day.

As the wedding reception is normally the biggest expense and is where the cost of a wedding can get out of hand but one of the easiest to cut down on costs and as statistics show that an average of 189 guests attend a wedding, so when you are planning your cheap wedding remember this will be where the most savings take place. Firstly is don't invite everyone you know, in particular relatives you may not have seen since you were a child and as far as the meal is concerned why opt for a buffet instead of a full three course meal. Instead of holding the reception in an expensive hotel suite or wedding reception, why not consider having it at someone's home or a club, or even book a restaurant and keep an open bar to a minimum by only serving beer, wine and soft drinks.

The obvious choice is to shop around for the best rates, but consider hiring a photographer for the ceremony only and ask a family member or friend to take snap photos of the reception. Many people know someone who is a keen amateur photographer and there is nothing wrong with asking them to take photos whilst they are at the wedding and dispose of the wedding photographer entirely.

With the availability of excellent computer programs, another area to help you plan your cheap wedding is in the area of stationery as invitations do not have to be taken to a printer when they can be done at home by anyone reasonably competent with a computer. With sophisticated customization tools you'll be able to enter your own text and preview it before you print so as not to make any costly mistakes, all from the benefit of your probably underused PC.

If you want to reduce the costs of flowers at your wedding, why not visit the flower wholesalers and buy them direct where huge savings can be made. If you have one of your friends make the wedding cake and reduce the number of tiers and buy your own wedding favors (candy is best) then you will save money here as well. As a last cost saving measure, have one of your friends or relations who has a nice car to decorate it for the wedding day and use this instead of a costly limousine because there are many things you can spend all those savings on!

Planning a Bachelor Party

By admin On July 23, 2010 No Comments

The bachelor party is just as important as the bridal party. It is an event where the groom can celebrate his last days as a bachelor with the men closest to him: friends, family, and people who have made an impact on his life. It should be a fun and meaningful celebration for both the groom and his groomsmen.

Planning a bachelor party is not really that complicated (at least not as complicated as a bridal party would usually be). The main things to consider are the setting, the guest list, the time of the event, and transportation for the guests.

For the setting, it can be anywhere as long as the guys are sure to have fun and can do some male bonding before the groom finally takes his vow and says goodbye to being single. Like for instance, if the groom is a sports enthusiast, the party can be a sporting event. If the groom loves to ski, and enjoys skiing with his friends, they will have a blast if they make it into a ski trip. A beer fest, golf getaway, beach barbecue, camping trip, weekend in Reno, all these are wonderful settings for a bachelor party. Of course, it would help to discuss things with the groom and groomsmen, and consult them about their preferences. Anything goes as long as it is something that all the guys would enjoy.

For the guest list, it's usually better to include only the people who are friends of the groom, and people who are close to him. Inviting people who are not so close to the groom may make it impersonal and may lessen the meaning of the event.

Don't hold the bachelor party on the night before the wedding. Plan the party well in advance and avoid celebrating maybe a week before, because that's too close to the wedding date. To avoid hassles, you can have the party within a month of the wedding date.

For the transportation, you can choose to use a service with a designated driver, or maybe you can hire or arrange cab services. Limos or buses can also be rented to ferry your guests for the event.

When planning for a bachelor party, keep in mind that it is for the groom and those closest to him, the groomsmen. They are there to celebrate with him on his big day and this party is a great way to have fun and bond at the same time. So no matter where the party is, the main concern would be to enjoy and celebrate.

Planning A Wedding In The Hurricane Season

By admin On July 22, 2010 No Comments

The summer months are some of the most popular times of the year for weddings with so many couples now looking at tropical destinations to hold their event. Aruba, the Bahamas, and Florida are favored wedding spots, with the latter two being among the most prized. Unfortunately, both locations fall smack dab in the middle of hurricane territory thereby increasing the risks that wedding plans could be cancelled in the event a storm hits. Are you considering a tropical wedding? If so, don't let your choice of venue ruin your day; instead consider taking some important measures to ensure that your wedding plans go forward no matter what the weather conditions may be.

Before you make plans to hold your wedding far from home, especially in an area prone to hurricane activity, there are some things you must consider first:

Location Is Everything. White sugar sand beaches are an attractive and unforgettable place to hold a tropical wedding. Just before sunset you and your betrothed meet together with your guests to exchange vows as the fiery red sun slowly sets to the west. A calm cooling breeze and the whiff of pure ocean air delights you and your wedding party who are enthralled at your choice of setting. Afterwards, you move indoors or over to a nearby outdoor pavilion for a celebration lasting into the early hours of the morning.

That gentle breeze can quickly turn into a gale as the storm clouds roll in and as the surf kicks up. Soon, your outdoor wedding plans are threatened. If you are resolute on holding your wedding during hurricane season, your entire event could be cancelled especially if it is held in an evacuation zone. These evacuation zones, which include the beach and surrounding areas, are always the first to close up when a big storm threatens and the last to re-open when everything calms down. Can you afford the delay? Will your facility even be standing when you return?

Preparation is the Key. Even if your venue is not evacuated, do they have a back up generator on hand should you lose power? Will each of your vendors stick around or will they head out at the first sign of trouble? Remember, their minds could be focused on securing their personal belongings and ensuring the safety of family members first. Who could blame them? However, it is important for you to know if things can continue on as planned despite the adverse weather conditions.

Contingency Plans are Necessary. Out of town guests may have trouble arriving if airports are shut down, roads close, and hotels fill up with people fleeing the impacted area. Fort Lauderdale could be the target, but your Pensacola Beach wedding plans may still be threatened if the area is flooded with evacuees. Make certain that your guests are protected financially in the event that your wedding plans are cancelled or moved elsewhere. Encourage everyone to purchase travel insurance to cover the worst case scenarios.

Of course, by now you may be rethinking your idea of a Florida wedding altogether. Likely, some of the other destinations are appealing, but they could be too pricey in comparison. However, if you choose to get married in Florida during the January to April time period, the chances of an out-of-season hurricane marring your plans are virtually nil. Besides, you and your guests may appreciate the off season get-a-way especially after enduring a long, cold winter!
