Dry Ice Blasting Implications in the Industry
This very topic primarily focuses on the industrial cleaning aspect which is considered very important by maintenance departments. Today you need to keep all your industrial machines and applications in perfect order to maximize the production capacity and also reducing the accidents occurring due to poor maintenance. In order to keep your equipment and machines clean traditional cleaning methods such as sand blasting, solvents and high pressure water blasting have been used. But all these methods have become a thing of the past since modern fast paced companies need quicker and more efficient ways to keep their equipment clean. A revolutionary new cleaning process called Dry Ice Blasting uses pellets of CO2 (dry ice). It is primarily used for a variety of applications to reduce downtime and waste generation. The pellets sublimate (convert directly from a solid blast pellet to a vapor CO2) leaving no residue.
So what exactly is Dry Ice Blasting?
It is a process in which dry ice particles are propelled to supersonic speed impacting and thus breaking free the debris on a surface. The particles are accelerated by compressed air just as with other blasting systems. The micro-thermal shock (caused by the dry ice temperature of -79º C), the kinetic energy of dry ice pellets and the air pressure break the bond between the coating and the substrate. It pops off the coating from inside out and the air stream removes it from the surface. Industries can utilize the CO2 blasting method through equipment that fires the pellets through a blasting gun. It is called instantaneous sublimation. Upon impact the dry ice sublimates (vaporizes). When the dry ice impacts the surface being cleaned it emits ambient heat that causes the separation of dirt particles from the contaminated area and thus making the surface clean. The dry ice blasting is very advantageous as compared to some traditional methods. Some of the issues that traditional cleaning systems face are listed below:
• Disassembly/reassembly; drying time required.
• Solvents become a secondary contaminant and must be disposed of.
• Intensive hand scrubbing; lengthy cleanings and follow-up cleaning-up can be lengthy.
• Poor to average results.
• Grit abrasions; grit contamination; movement of equipment to and from cleaning area
• Health and environmental threats from solvents; water-based cleaning pose hazards around electrical equipment.
• Cleaning agent becomes additional hazardous waste; expensive solvents; additional labor and personal protective equipment is required.
Whereas Dry Ice Blasting has the following advantages:
• Equipment can be cleaned in place; dry process; can clean while equipment is hot with no down-time.
• No additional contaminant; dry ice sublimates when contacting the targeted surface so only clean-up of the removed contaminant is necessary.
• Dramatically reduced labor - often completed in half the time or better.
• No equipment damage; preventive maintenance very realistic as labor hours are significantly less.
• Standard safety precautions; dry process - safe around electrical equipment
• Minimal - cost of dry ice.
The Dry Ice Blasting process is accentuated with the environmental benefits because companies today want to minimize their industrial waste. When all benefits of Dry Ice Blasting are added up Dry Ice Blasting is the perfect solution to reduce environmental waste, production downtime and plant maintenance concerns.
Some of the industries where Dry Ice Blasting is widely being used are:
Aerospace
Historical Restoration
Automotive
Mold Remediation
Contract Cleaning
Packaging
Electrical
Plastics
Fire Restoration
Power Generation
Food and Beverage
Printing
Foundry
Rubber
General Maintenance
Wood
The process is used in almost any type of industry that has equipment which regularly needs to be cleaned. It is safe to be used where there are smoke particles and residues of mold. Dry Ice Blasting for ink presses is a rapidly sought-after process for the printing industry. Build-up of ink causes production quality and safety concerns. Dry Ice Blasting ink presses are beneficial because it takes away the need for manual labor, solvents and down-time. It has certainly been a revolution for not only the printing industry but also almost all industries that use equipment. Dry Ice Blasting is the tried and true method against obsolete cleaning technologies and is gaining in popularity with plant maintenance crews.

Chrysler’s Lifetime Powertrain Warranty
South Korean carmaker Hyundai Kia Autogroup set the standard for reliability in 1999 when it introduced it's 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty on all car models on top of its already generous 5-year/60,000-mile coverage of almost all components.
In recent years, Chrysler has been making a slow comeback with 67 percent of surveyed models scoring average or better in predicted reliability. In fact, Steven Landry, Executive Vice President of North American Sales for Chrysler, is fond of telling people that dealer feedback reinforced what they were seeing internally that Chrysler's recent fleet is the best quality they had ever seen. Faced with declining consumer confidence in American automotive manufacturing and an eroding customer base, Chrysler decided to raise the bar and issue its own benchmark warranty to lure buyers back to Detroit. "We decided to add 'lifetime' to our warranty as a service to our customer" says Patti Georgevich, Global Service & Communication Manager for Chrysler. Will consumers take the bait?
Devil in the details
The lifetime warranty begins at the end of the 3-year/36,000-mile Basic Limited Warranty and covers the engine, transmission, and drive systems. Chrysler is quick to point out those parts are the most costly to repair, but they neglect to mention that they're also the parts least likely to break.
As always, you need to read the fine print. Before you get excited about stress-testing your Dodge Ram SRT-10, note that all cars are covered by the warranty. Chrysler excludes all hybrids and SRT models from the lifetime coverage. If you're trying to save a few bucks by buying a used Jeep, stash those savings in a safe place in the event you need to fix the engine timing. Like the Hyundai 10-year warranty, Chrysler's lifetime warranty applies only to the original owner of the car and is non-transferable to subsequent owners.
If you have a hard time remembering your anniversary or mother's birthday, perhaps this isn't the best deal for you. The only caveat for maintaining the warranty is that the powertrain must be inspected by an authorized Chrysler, Jeep, or Dodge dealer 'free of charge' every five years within 60 days of the purchase date. This means that if forget to have the car inspected, the warranty is void.
And the lifetime powertrain warranty isn't a license to skip oil changes or run your engine into the ground? the warranty requires that you properly maintain your vehicle according to the Scheduled Maintenance Guidelines in the owner's manual. The provisions stop short of requiring documentation of all repairs. But if you need a new transmission around the 80,000 mile mark, you might end up in a he-said/she-said confrontation. The good news is that Chrysler does not mandate service or repairs be performed at a Chrysler dealership. The bad news is that if the damage appears to be a result of improper maintenance and you can't back up your claim with documentation, you're on the hook for a new transmission.
Too much of a good thing?
Cars typically have a 3-year/36,000-mile or 4-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. Coincidentally, owners keep new cars on average for five and a half years. Not long after the warranty expires and the car starts breaking down, owners tend to sell the car for a newer model. Which begs the question, is a lifetime warranty really necessary?
And even if you're the type to drive a car until the wheels fall off, powertrains are typically the last to go. So while it may be a good idea to keep your detailed service records, they may be moot. "If you follow all recommended service and maintenance," says Ms. Georgevich, "our vehicles should last a very, very long time."
While it's too soon to see if the warranty will entice more customers or end up being a costly mistake, it's easy to see how it makes for good marketing.
CAD Jobs – How To Find Them
When it comes to finding a job in the computer aided design (CAD) industry, it is best to go for the proverbial "jugular." This means that you can only find your ideal job if you, firstly, know what it is, and secondly, look in the right places by making use of the right resources.
As we move more and more into a technological age, the opportunities for people with skills related to IT and Computers are growing immensely. Manufacturers, designer professionals, as well as architects and engineers are learning how valuable it is to use developing technology based on CAD.
Computer Aided Design or Drafting is used for conceptual design and layout of products and can ultimately eliminate the high costs of testing and manufacturing. This can mean creating construction, architectural and building plans for contractors, planning out electrical or mechanical layouts for manufacturers and builders and many other tasks for a fraction of the time and thus a lower price than usual 2-D practices.
A CAD job and career not only brings satisfaction, but the average entry-level salary was placed at $350 - $600 per week plus incentives and individual job related bonuses. The opportunities regarding amount of jobs, as well as variety of industries, are limitless, because they pop up in almost every field. CAD professionals are being used in forensic and medical fields, modelling of machinery and tools in 2-D and 3-D, as well as in automotive-, ship- and aviation building. Your CAD career could also put you in the position to advance technology and human knowledge about these industries even further.
As a CAD professional, you can also rest assured that the future of CAD jobs is bright and moving forward. According to cadplan 2011, "CAD is an essential platform for design." Students, as well as professionals are constantly on the cutting edge of both technology and design, with the latest innovations being the development of 3D design and Spatial 3D holographic imaging. For this reason, more and more technical schools and universities are allowing students to specialize in Computer Aided Design and the application to certain fields and careers. When it comes to qualifications, it is ideal to obtain at least a bachelor's degree in a CAD related field, but many schools offer short courses and diploma opportunities to interested students. The better you qualify yourself, the more you earn, but the ideal "money-maker" in this career is experience. Internships and physical, practical work will get you far.
Thus, when it comes to finding a CAD job, you will not have to look far. You can follow the old-fashioned way of buying newspapers to rummage through classifieds, but, if you choose the "jugular" route, look for your ideal job where it is based: on the computer and the Internet. Every company that searches for CAD professionals are bound to have a website and there are countless job websites designed to exclusively advertise and publish CAD related jobs. These websites are usually the best way to go, because they are up to date with the latest CAD jobs and can direct you to some of the best companies. Remember to also do your own research about the company to make sure it would be a place you would want to be a part of and would want to grow with.

Bharatbook.com : New technologies and models of Hybrid and Pure Electric Cars
Hybrid And Pure Electric Cars 2009-2019 Report ( http://www.bharatbook.com/Market-Research-Reports/Hybrid-And-Pure-Electric-Cars.html ) estimates that Electric vehicles just became exciting. For 111 years, electric cars that rely only on a battery - "pure EVs" - have had a range of only 30-50 miles and the humble golf car has been the only type selling in hundreds of thousands every year. However, huge changes have been announced in 2009. Electric vehicles will penetrate the market rapidly to constitute 35% of the cars made in 2025 - 25% hybrids, 10% pure EV. Any motor manufacturer without a compelling line up of electric vehicles is signing its death warrant.
These changes include:
Launch of cars that have a range of 250 miles or more in pure electric mode, including a pure EV family car made in China and plug in hybrid gasoline-electric cars. Launch of the Toyota Prius plug in hybrid that will be very attractive to over one million purchasers of the existing Prius mild hybrid and millions of others. 95% of Prius owners would buy another. First full production of the beautiful Tesla pure EV luxury sports car which silently outperforms conventional equivalents. Large initial orders show that this can be a multibillion dollar sector of the EV car business, particularly if we include new luxury hybrids such as the gorgeous Fiskar Karma. Lithium electric car batteries from companies such as LGChem are claimed to last ten years, not the more usual three years. This hugely improves the economics of all EVs with range acceptable to mainstream purchasers. President Obama's Stimulus Bill granted $14.4 billion for hybrids and huge sums have been allotted by other governments across the world to develop and subsidise use of EV cars to save the planet and the car industry and provide independence from dwindling oil reserves.
Within the decade, it will be possible for some suppliers to offer hybrid cars and no price premium to conventional cars in the way that the Japanese took the Western car market by storm 20 years ago by offering excellent vehicles with most accessories thrown in free. There would then be no strong reason why anyone would want the conventional alternative. This unique report takes a detailed look at the market size from 2009-2019 and the government support, technology and new model launches that will get it there. It assesses work on energy harvesting in vehicles from light, heat and shock absorbers, new battery technologies, fuel cells, flywheels and other advances and clarifies which really matter. Here you can also learn which countries and companies are most impressive and why.
The only detailed and up to date critical analysis of both pure and hybrid EV cars worldwide
Entirely researched in 2009, this report gives the only detailed and up to date critical analysis of both pure and hybrid EV cars worldwide. With 200 pages and over 125 figures and tables including many new and detailed summaries and forecasts, it gives the future in the context of the past including the mistakes and inspired moves for over 100 years. It looks closely at the forceful new market drivers such as peak oil and government subsidies but it does not dwell on the well understood global warming debate that is also now driving things forward. Instead, it provides essential data useful to all investors, manufacturers, developers, component suppliers, marketing outlets, legislators and those planning financial support. Which will be the prosperous niches? What is the neglected part of leader Toyota's multibillion dollar business in EVs? Where is the action globally? Why is the geometry of the EV about to change? What about supercapacitors, supercabatteries, zinc air batteries and solar cells even over the windows? It is all here, provided by a global team of technical experts who have been tracking this industry for ten years and writing highly acclaimed forecasts about it.

Anti-theft device "smoke and mirrors" have to sort out how the alarm – car alarm – Automotive supplies industry
Hand car, many owners are not installed for the alarm installed but worried the market is also a large selection of anti-theft device makes a loss. According to foreign media reports, the highly skilled car thief can break in half an hour the most stringent high-end car security systems. Therefore, how to select the anti-theft device really is a science.
Auxiliary anti-theft device simple mechanical lock
Status: mechanical lock is the most common application of the first Car alarm Measures are mainly used in conjunction with other security measures. Mechanical anti-theft lock key role in the operation of vehicles from the restrictions, it is difficult to resist crowbar, hacksaw, scissors and other tools of the destruction of steel, but they can delay the car thieves had committed crimes is a fact.
Analysis: Steering wheel lock Many car owners are used, no additional installation; gears lock is usually installed in the center console, the lock body and body connection, through the lock ring limits the movement of shift handle; there is a transmission lock, card lock built directly made shift lever, but the price of almost 1000 yuan, and the shift lever to replace the original, not many users.
Tip: mechanical lock, was undoubtedly the most widely used steering wheel locks, door locks, gears lock and oil, prices ranging from 100 yuan to 1,500 yuan. Main purpose is to deter those who steal. New car buying a baseball bat-type steering wheel lock, can increase security, but also play a role in self-defense.
Electronic Security applications in general but there are still loopholes
Status: electronic anti-theft lock is the most widely used anti-theft lock, one of the main features include keyless entry, searching cars and illegal open alarm, there are some other brands of products to increase functionality, such as using electronic remote control the completion of engine startup, flameout.
Analysis: There are three types of electronic security devices. In the control-type anti-theft more practical, with a special locking nut alarm can handle general car thieves; One-way Alarm Lock with remote control car functions, will experience abnormal vibration alarm; Two-way Alarm Has been improved to display vehicles in the state of the remote control, more intuitive.
Tip: electronic anti-theft system is fatal to electronic code and remote control operated. When the owners when the doors with the remote switch, hidden in a nearby car thieves can steal the signal with the receiver and decoder, the owner should be used with mechanical anti-theft device.
Chip digital anti-theft car alarm mainstream of modern
Status: Chip digital anti-theft car alarm device is mainstream, the majority of vehicles are used in high-end security approach such as the Original. Current chip-type anti-theft has been developed to the fourth generation, with special diagnostic feature, read the key confidential information, access to historical information of the anti-theft system.
Analysis: Chip is a basic principle of the digital anti-theft devices to lock the car motors, circuits and circuit, in the absence of a key chip can not start under the vehicle. Fourth-generation electronic anti-theft system's unique radio frequency identification technology (RFID) can guarantee that in any case the system can correctly identify the driver, the driver close to or away from the vehicle can also be automatic recognition of their status.
Note: this system, the password re-rate is very low, use your password access to the car key to unlock the password lock to eliminate the drawbacks of being scanned. At present, many imported luxury cars, and cars have been equipped with domestic joint-venture factory-chip brand anti-theft system.
The direction of future development of network security
Status: Network security is achieved through the network door switches, engine start, stop and auto operation, also enables remote vehicle speed, vehicle location and reporting functions. Mainly rely on network security GPS Global Positioning System to achieve its remote control vehicle functions in the past, and crime prevention measures can not match the.
Analysis: network security benefit from the satellite monitoring center of the vehicle's 24-hour, high-precision monitoring services, the system installed in the command center by the central control system, installed in vehicles as well as GSM mobile GPS terminals Communicate Network composed of a moving target by satellite to calculate the longitude, latitude, speed, direction and GPS communications with traditional programs can not match advantage.
Tip: The system is expensive, currently only applies to a few high-end models, the car must have a GPS Navigation System, the installation price of more than 2000 yuan per month to pay the service charge to pay a fee, yet to achieve universal access.

Before Taking Out Your Auto Insurance Consider This
When you buy a vehicle, a car, or an automobile you must not forget to get it insured. The auto insurance, motor insurance, or car insurance is meant for protection against losses incurred either as a result of a traffic accident or against liability that could be incurred in an accident.
In every country there are different laws for auto insurance as in some countries one must have an auto insurance of the automobile or car they own. In fact insurance of a driver is also a must in some parts of the world. Traffic accidents can occur anytime so auto insurance has its advantages. You cannot protect yourself from accidents but you can get protection against the losses.
If you take an auto insurance policy you may either get coverage for an independent item or one can take such a policy which includes all the items. The items included are insured party, the insured vehicle, third parties which includes car and people, third party which may include fire and theft, or No Fault Auto Insurance. The no fault insurance is the one in which coverage for injuries to persons riding in the insured vehicle is available without regard to fault in the auto accident. The policy of different auto insurance companies includes or specifies different circumstances or situations under which each item is covered. This can be explained with the example that an automobile or car can be insured against theft, fire, or traffic accident independently or separately.
Most car dealers offer this facility; that when they hand over a car to you will get it insured. This facility is ideal for those individuals who do not like to do a lot of paperwork and are very busy with their work and other commitments.
The premium charged by the insurance companies can be low or high depending on the age and gender of the car owner or driver. Auto insurance companies must have some logic behind this difference in premium for individuals of different gender and age groups. This is so interesting that unmarried drivers are charged higher premium then those who are married. The charges of premium also depend on the type of the vehicle i.e. for motorcycle it is low as chance of causing damage to other vehicles and automobiles is comparatively lower.
First of all one must drive carefully, but since one cannot save him or her from accidents do get your car insured even if it is not compulsory in your country. On the World Wide Web you can easily find the details of what coverage is included or available in the auto insurance plans of your country. Whether you are a car or any other vehicle owner you must always keep this in mind, “safety first””!!

“Carputers” Becoming Options On The Open Market
If your fingers itch for a touch screen even during the morning commute, there may be a solution -- particularly when you're carpooling in the passenger seat and have a minute to play. Vehicles are now being released with "carputers" or "carPCs" as an option, not just as a retrofit. A familiar type of "carPC" to most folks is a Global Positioning System (GPS). According to an online encyclopedia, a GPS device is much like a limited laptop running GPS software.
Basic Specs and Tech:
"Carputer" machines consist of a motherboard, processor and memory and data storage method, such as a hard drive or solid state flash memory. Interface hardware depends on non-distracting options to interact with the "carPC," such as wireless protocols, which are commonly used to connect to GPS devices and mobile phones. Wirelessly connecting and transferring data to and from home computers is also possible.
A well-executed interface is paramount to the machine's success, and its software runs the computer's hardware. Good programming allows drivers to use their favorite piece of technology without being distracted. Common operating systems are available and nearly all are customizable.
Making sure "carPCs" keep their juices flowing is a slightly more complicated matter than it is for the average desktop or laptop. The danger lies in the sudden power drain to certain systems that occurs upon start-up or, of course, when the ignition is cut. To suddenly seize a computer's supply, however, is risky; software can malfunction and data can be lost. To safeguard against this, a DC-DC power supply is often used, which provides a continuous, 12V power stream to the "carputer." A DC-AC inverter can also be installed, but it tends to use more energy and produce more wasted heat. The right hardware and software combination allows the computer to sense when the main power source has been cut and use what's left to safely shut down the machine.
Experiments have found that Internet users experience marked levels of frustration when a Web site takes thirty or more seconds to load. Bearing this in mind, imagine how quickly "carputer" popularity would decline without the relay circuits enabling the machine's devices to start automatically. Without properly relaying circuits, devices such as amplifiers and screens would have to be started manually -- something a portion of the general public doesn't even know how to do anymore.
Before 2000, LCD character displays were the screen of choice for "carPC" builders. Commands were usually sent to the machine through a keyboard with this system. Soon, wireless serial port remotes were made possible, and small television screens became affordable. The majority of first screens were video input only. For over a grand a pop, though, these were hard to justify. Rapidly advancing technology and production increases have recently made touch screens available and affordable.
Lest one thinks these little "carputers" are all business, entertainment features have been added. "CarPCs" now bring nearly all the entertainment comforts of home onto that cross-country trek. Passengers feel like watching a movie? No problem. Playing a video game? Hook 'er up. Download favorite music, tune in to satellite radio and map the next trip to Europe on advanced GPS software. It's all there. No more "Maaa-om. Are we there yet?" "Pop in a movie," says Maaa-om. Or, "do your homework," which she downloaded from a desktop at home. At last -- technology not only brings hope for peace and quiet but also a way to make sure no one gets too lost along the way.
The possibilities are nearly endless. After all, automobiles have already been introduced to the world of high technology. Consider infrared cameras, a variety of hands-free applications, cargo detectors, lane departure and side (blind spot) warning software -- these technological offerings are all not only possible but are already being incorporated. Imagine the capabilities modern computers possess. Now imagine that in your car.

The Psychology Of Having Your Car Run Forever – 6 Tips!
You are right! Nothing lasts forever but bear with me for just a moment. If you tell people you have over 200k on your car, they look at you as if your car has indeed run forever! But I just said it did'nt! Ohh, so confusing. What is psychology anyway?
So, let us assume for the sake of this article that you do indeed have the goal of getting your car to go that far. What then? How can you maximize the possibility that you can realize this goal with the variables in your control?
A big part of the answer is how you think about your car. If you can work it such that you never want to get rid of your car, then you are very likely to reach that goal. So lets explore some of these factors.
First, lets manage the positive thoughts
Tip #1 : Like the car you get!
If you are going to sit in your car for 153 days, you really have to like it or you’ll go find something else to sit in. So, the first tip is to buy a car you like to be in.
Now this does not mean that you have to buy a Porsche(tho some will and many Porsches go over 200k miles) but you should buy a car that you feel reflects you in whatever way you think is important. For instance, if you’re the stylish type of person, a subcompact Hyundai may not be the right car. Or if you are an environmentalist, a SUV shouldn’t be on your list even if it is cheap. These examples are obvious but the idea is that it is important and should be a factor in your automotive decisions.
Tip #2 : Be comfortable in your car!
Furthering your goal of liking your car, you need to make sure your very comfortable in your car. So, the seat should fit you well. If you are into music, then it should have a good stereo. If you have a family, it should be roomy. If you have a sensitive back make sure the seat has good support.
Tip #3 : Care about your car!
For you to continue the positive motivation, you at the very least have to maintain the first two tips. That is, if you no longer like your car then you’ll fail your quest. So do what you have to do to keep liking your car. Keep it clean. Spiff it up once in a while. Give it a treat. Keep it running perfectly. Customize it.
Here are some ways of doing this.
Upgrade the stereo.
Wash and Wax it.
Buy new rims.
Get aftermarket lights.
Any other customization you like.
You can do whatever you like here. If the option is to go get a new car, then any of them are cheap. (This helps with spouses too)
Then, prevent the negative thoughts
Tip #4 : Prevent big tickets by following regular maintenance.
Nothing demotivates like unexpected big expenses that do nothing to improve your lot in life. However, as humans, we’re quite comfortable with regular expenditures like paying for insurance etc. Use this psychological principle to your advantage.
Replacing transmissions and engines falls into that unexpected big expense. Amazingly these are some of the most reliable parts of the car if you do the basic maintenance – which happens to be dirt cheap! That is. Change the fluids as required for both the engine and for the transmission on the low end of the recommended interval. Most people are pretty good with the engine but fail with the transmission. Check your manual for both and follow those directions to the T.
If you fail with either of these, you are guaranteed to not make the 200k goal.
Tip #5 : Fix things right away – Don’t let anything go!
Similar in scope to the above single point of failure catastrophe is the multiple-cost-at-once demotivator.
Here is an example. If you notice your tires starting to go but wait for the shocks to get tired so you can do it all at once, you’ll have a bill over 1000$ which is a terrible blow to the psyche of your relationship to your car. However, if you did them separately over 4 months, you’d have two much smaller blows spaced out such that they will seem less significant.
Another example is if you get into a small fender bender. You’ll likely get a check from the insurance company which you might be tempted to cash and keep. Don’t do it. The next expense decision will then be "Should I spend the 2000$ to fix the fender and get new tires or get a new car?" This is a reasonable dilemma. It can go either way.
This is as opposed to "Should I get new tires for 500$ or get a new car?" which is a much easier dillema. Just get the new tires – it is much less stressful.
Tip # 6 : Maintain the experience!
Next on the scale of motivation destroyers are things more subtle.
For instance, the condition of your tires and of your suspension makes a big difference on the day to day enjoy ability of your car. So keep them maintained aggressively. (This could also save your live if you have the opportunity to avoid an accident)
Similarly, if your seat is completely caved in or has rips and no longer comfortable, you can either get your seat reupholstered or replaced. It may cost a bit but it is cheaper than buying a new car.
Remember, if you don’t like your car, it is not likely you’ll get to 200k.
So, that’s it. It is pretty simple and really requires no additional cost or time. You’ll have aligned your behaviors to make it easy to own your car for a long time.
Here are the tips again :
Like the car you get! Be comfortable in your car! Care about your car! Prevent big pain by following regular maintenance. Fix things right away – Don’t let anything go! Maintain the experience!

Evolution of Automobiles
Man is a creature of innovation, possessed with an inherent inclination towards novelty man has endeavored to find new modes of transportation. Such endeavors resulted in the manufacturing of the present day cars. The automobile was invented in the 1800's. However, the history of the invention can be traced back to the invention of the wheel about 4000 years ago, which has been hailed by many as one of the greatest invention of all time. In 1770, Nicholas Joseph Cugnot made the first serious attempt at building an automobile by managing to build a large stream-driven vehicle. In the early 1900s manufacturers seriously started concentrating their efforts in car production for the public. Henry Ford is amongst the pioneers of this industry. The Ford Motor company has been manufacturing cars for the public since 1903. Through assembly line production and division of labor Ford managed to manufacture cars affordable to an everyday worker.
The early cars can be considered aesthetically dull and boring compared to the glory and grandeur of present day vehicles. During the first two world wars manufactures directed their energy towards building planes and tanks rather than cars. The breakthrough in the automobile industry took place on October 14, 1947 when Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier. After that event the desire to go faster took precedence and rigorous efforts were made towards building faster cars, additionally it prompted the construction of sleek and aerodynamic cars. Power, style, convenience and features became the integral features of cars and companies such as General Motors were seeking to provide cars with these qualities.
Companies such as Chevrolet, Cadillac and Renault jumped on the bandwagon and started producing cars. The industry thrived as the number of automobiles multiplied with each company trying to out do the other by producing better cars while being more cost efficient.
According to reliable figures there were 590 million passenger cars worldwide in 2002. This figure is bound to have been increased exponentially every year since then. Presently cars are the most popular mode of transportation. Roads are an integral part of the infrastructure of any country. Motor sports such as Formula One and NASCAR Car Racing are popular around the world as well. Car manufacturers are now looking to produce hybrid cars which are cleaner, as well as looking at alternative fuel technology to reduce the pollution to the environment. Companies are looking at the prospect of producing cars which run on renewable resources as opposed to petroleum products or gasoline, which are non-renewable. The material which the car made of is also being innovated with duraluminum, fiberglass, carbon fiber and carbon nanotubes being looked at as alternatives. In conclusion, the industry has grown into one of the biggest industries in the world but it is still possessed by a desire to innovate as people are dreaming about the prospect of cars which will be able to fly in the future. The idea may seem strange at the moment but so must have the idea of a car before the 1800's.

F1 Technology Makes Mercedes-benz Slr Mclaren Safer
At the Canadian Grand Prix, the life-saving property of carbon fiber is demonstrated when BMW Sauber’s Robert Kubica sustained only a minor concussion and a sprained ankle after a 250 kilometer per hour, 75-G crash. Less than 24 hours after the accident, the Polish Formula One driver was released from the hospital.
The use of carbon fiber on Formula One cars is mandated to make sure that the cars can adequately protect the drivers in the unfortunate event of a high speed crash. Mercedes-Benz of course has its tie with McLaren in Formula One and it comes as no surprise that the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren should be made safer by suing F1 technology.
The sports car co-developed by DaimlerChrysler and McLaren Automotive is designed as a supercar thus it can reach very high speeds. This of course presents the issue of protecting the occupants of the car in the case of a crash. To make the SLR McLaren Roadster safe, the developer uses carbon fiber extensively in the manufacturing of the SLR McLaren.
In the unfortunate event of a head-on collision, the carbon fiber materials protect the passenger and the driver inside the car. Even on side or rear collision, the high strength material can adequately protect the occupants of the vehicle even on high speed traffic accidents.
“Naturally, it is not possible to completely transfer Formula One technology into a vehicle intended for everyday use, in which comfort criteria also need to be taken into account,” said Dr. Rodolfo Schöneburg, head of Passenger Car Safety Development for Mercedes-Benz.
“For example, you cannot expect the driver of a series-production sports car to either wear a helmet or use the HANS Head And Neck Support system that is prescribed for racing cars to protect those parts of the driver's body. However, we do capitalize on the positive properties of the high-tech materials used in Formula One to offer those traveling in the new Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster a standard of safety that is unmatched, even in the realm of super-sports cars.”
The presence of carbon fiber in the SLR is unique due to the fact that few supercar manufacturers use carbon fiber extensively on their production vehicles. One of the reasons for this is the complicated manufacturing process involved.
But with McLaren and Formula One partner Mercedes-Benz having years of experience in developing their race car made out of carbon fiber has given Mercedes-Benz the advantage of expertise in the production of the needed carbon fiber.
The front end of the SLR McLaren is fitted with carbon fiber materials. The material’s capacity to absorb huge amount of energy makes it possible for a passenger of an SLR McLaren to Escape with only minor injuries after a high speed crash.
With the use of carbon fiber on the SLR McLaren, the car became not only a superfast and a very good looking machine but a safe one as well. The carbon fiber materials used in the SLR complements all the other parts used in the assembly of the car even down to the Mercedes-Benz wiper blade.
Aside from being safe, it is of course expected that the SLR has the driving dynamics that Mercedes-Benz and McLaren cars are known for. While the SLR McLaren Roadster cannot catch up with the MP4-22 currently used by McLaren this season, the SLR can stand its ground in terms of performance and safety.

how to Select Cordless Drill For Your Service Needs
A cordless drill, loosely defined, is anything used as a means of accomplishing a task using mechanical energy.
All cordless drills use mechanical energy to accomplish tasks that would otherwise be difficult – or even impossible – to accomplish by hand.
Now think about all the jobs that we are able to accomplish with cordless drills.
There are fun ones like being able to change a tire on a race car in 4.3 seconds. Try that with a tire iron and see how it works out for you. How about loosening head bolts on a Cat D9? Let's see, if you use a one-inch breaker bar with a 10-foot long piece of pipe on it with two BIG guys you should be able to break those loose in nothing flat. How about porting and polishing a Harley-Davidson racing motor to increase horsepower? Sounds like a great job for a mini die grinder with ultra-fine carbide burrs.
There are also less "fun" jobs that we need to be able to do every day that cordless drills make easier. Cutting, grinding, drilling, tightening, loosening, screwing, sawing, chipping, bending, flaring, polishing, buffing, the list goes on and on. The point is, life as a technician would be a whole lot more difficult without the cordless drills that have become such a large part of day-to-day life in the shop.
Power tools come in lots of different flavors, colors, shapes and sizes. The trick is deciding how to pick the right tool for the right job. As much as some folks would like you to believe it, there is no such thing as "one size fits all." What I mean by this is that there are reasons to choose certain kinds of tools, all are dependent on the type of work you need the tool to help you do.
In addition to suggestions on how to pick a power tool, I will share with you some of the new developments in cordless drills. There are lots of new products and some new technologies as well.
So where to start? Well as a wise, albeit bald-headed, guru said: "the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." So…let's take that first step. What kind of tool are you looking for? How do you decide the best tool for the application? This type of decision is usually a result of answering several different questions. In this case, in no particular order.
What kind of work? How long do you want to be able to do the job? What kind of power do you have to work with (electric, air, none)? And, always last in my mind, is how much can you spend on the tool? I always list cost last because I think it is the least important question of all.
Please note, I don't think cost is unimportant, only that it is the least important of the factors to decide. So many times we as consumers shop with our wallets first instead of making sure the tool or item we are buying will do the job well. I have a couple more comments about cost, but let me come back to those in a minute.
Work Type
What do you need the tool to do? This is a simple one, if you need to drill holes, you're not going to buy a saw, and if you need to rivet body panels, you won't be buying a sander. These are pretty silly examples I know, but there is a point to this. Some jobs use a much larger amount of energy than others. For instance, think about an orbital sander and the motion or energy that it uses vs. a screw gun. The first one runs at incredibly fast speeds and you tend to operate it for long periods of time. The screw gun runs in short bursts. So it's easy to see which one uses a lot more energy.
Let's look at another pair of tools – the first being an impact wrench and the second a die grinder. Simple, right? The impact provides a large amount of power, but only runs for a short time, while the die grinder may need to run at very high rpm for longer periods of time. Anyway, you get the point. You need to consider whether the tool is a low or high-energy user, and how long you will operate the tool for any given job.
Power Supply
Next, what kind of power do you have to work with? In most shops you will have electric or compressed air or both. The only question in this case might have to do with the quantity and quality of the air supply. The two factors to consider are pressure and volume.
Pressure is only half of the equation when considering if you have enough air to operate a certain tool. Most air tools like to run at a pressure of 90 psi at the tool. "Is that all?" you ask. After all, 90 psi is hardly anything at all! Well, you are right and wrong.
A great example of this is those small 12-volt compressors you can buy to pump up inflatable toys and tires on the road. They are usually rated anywhere from 120 to 200 psi. Have you ever tried to use one of those to fill up a car tire? Did you finally give up and call AAA? The problem was not the pressure of that little compressor, it was the volume or cfm (cubic feet per minute) of air that it could provide.
The question for you to consider is will the compressor in your shop be able to sustain 90 psi for the length of time needed to operate the tool you wish to use and to complete the job you need to do? In order to be able to answer this second question, you need to know about the volume requirement of the tool and the volume of the compressor in your shop. Back to my silly examples above about different kinds of tools: High-energy users are really high volume tools. Rotary tools tend to be the worst, followed by oscillating tools and then fastening tools, which are usually the lowest consumers of air volume.
So, what does all this mean? You need to decide what kind of tool you are going to buy based on how you need it to perform. To restate where we started, you have three basic choices to make as far as how the tool you use will be powered – Air, which we have discussed above, Electric, and Cordless or Battery.
Tool Types
Electric tools sometimes may be the best choice. These tools are quiet relative to air tools, they are sometimes easier to move around than a tool with an air hose attached and, in some cases, they may be lighter than the comparable air tool.
The negatives to electric tools are they can only be used where there is a good source of electricity, so either in a shop or where there is a generator. Electric tools will load down sooner than some air tools will. And they can be dangerous to use in certain environments since electric tools tend to have more components including electronic controls. This can lead to the potential for more failures and/or be more expensive to fix when they do fail.
Cordless or battery-powered tools are the third choice for power supply. These tools are the newest of all the types of tools. As the name implies, they have no cord, which makes them the most flexible in terms of portability, convenience and ease of handling. In addition, these tools are usable in environments where there is no other source of power, such as on the road, in junkyards, on the service line or in the parking lot. Cordless tools are also a great choice for wet environments like marine applications.
The down side to cordless can be lack of power, battery life and limited tool selection. All three of these issues are changing quickly. I will talk about that later in this article.
New Developments
There are some really cool developments happening in cordless drills. I'm going to talk about specific types of tools and the changes we are seeing relative to those tools. Some of the changes may be happening to more than one of the types of tools.
• Air Tools: This group is probably the largest in terms of number of tools in use daily by professional technicians. The biggest development we are seeing in these tools is materials used to build the tools.
Most of the major manufacturers have begun to incorporate some exotic materials in the tool bodies and mechanisms. These materials range from ultra-light weight metals such as titanium, to ballistic-strength nylon-impregnated plastics. These plastics are the same materials that are used to make bullet-proof vests and body armor for the military. In both cases the number one goal is weight reduction.
In speaking with a product manager for one air tool manufacturer, I learned the number one complaint from professional technicians about air tools is how heavy they are. Yet, I learned something very interesting – the only thing stopping manufacturers from reducing weight even more than they have is the perception of the users. I thought this was pretty funny. We are our own worst enemy sometimes! We complain about the tools being too heavy, but if the tool gets too light, we start thinking the tool must be cheap and poor quality. The good news here is that the only thing stopping the suppliers from giving you what you asked for is you. Wow! Talk about the dog biting its own tail!
• Electric Tools: This group has enjoyed the rewards of materials development as well with the primary improvement being the same plastics we talked about above. The tools are lasting a lot longer and are getting lighter as well.
Microprocessor controls are being used more and more to control functions like speed and direction, as well as quick shut down for safety.
• Cordless Tools: This group has seen some of the most exciting developments in recent times. Cordless tools for years have been modified and adapted for use in the automotive channel. Many times tools that were originally designed for use by homeowners and home construction tradesmen have been shoved into this channel without much thought of the technician's needs. For that reason, we as a trade have begrudgingly used cordless tools while always thinking in many cases they were not "real" tools.
The biggest problem with cordless tools has been tool availability and power supply. These two problems are interrelated. Manufacturers have not been able to offer a complete line of tools to the automotive trade because of the power supply problems. Until the last few years, the cordless drill battery technology available has limited the types and quality of cordless tools for this channel.
There have been incremental improvements since the first battery-powered tools were introduced. The early batteries had short run times, were quick to discharge and could not provide the torque and speeds that we demanded of our tools. For these reasons the only tools we used consistently were drill-type tools for fastening and assembly jobs. Cordless tools worked relatively well for these types of jobs.
In the last few years, several events have occurred which have driven tool manufacturers to introduce more and better cordless tool options.
The developments in materials and technology are the first part. The second, and perhaps the most exciting development, is the advent of vastly improved battery technology. The newest and most powerful batteries in use today are providing substantially better power and run time than any battery used in cordless tools before. Li-ion or lithium ion batteries are truly amazing.
The best example of their power I can give is to compare them to turbocharging a small four-cylinder engine. Speaking of horsepower produced in a small motor is just as incredible to me as the power-to-weight ratio of these new batteries. This has allowed the tool manufacturers to offer tools that were unavailable just a few years ago.
Another really exciting development is that traditional air tool manufacturers are now entering the cordless tool market. While this might seem strange, it makes perfect sense. These companies, which are already experts at making cordless drills, are now just using the same expertise to make tools that run on a different "fuel" – as opposed to air, these tools use electricity from batteries to run. Cool, huh?
So, as you can see, there are lots of things happening in cordless drills. You have more choices than you ever have had when choosing a cordless drill. You just need to ask a lot of questions before you make a decision. Ask yourself some of the above questions and then ask your tool distributor a lot of questions. If you listen to the answers, you're bound to get the right tool for the job that will last you a long time and give you great service.

Supermarket Fuel Retail in Europe: Market Size, Retailer Strategies and Competitive Success—Aarkstore Enterprise
Introduction
The penetration of supermarkets into the European fuel retailing market varies widely between individual countries and is influenced by specific individual market dynamics and characteristics. This report assesses the impact supermarkets have had in breaking into the fuel retailing market in selected European countries and how this has been achieved.
Scope
*Analysis into the sites and volumes fuel retailing market shares held by supermarkets and non-supermarkets in various European markets.
*Insight into progress made by supermarkets in fuel retail and the main strategies adopted in specific markets to win market share from oil companies.
*An overview of how market conditions influence the penetration of supermarkets into fuel retailing and how oil companies are seeking to counter this.
*Profiles of key supermarket retailers active in the fuel retailing sector including coverage of their fuel, non-fuel and card offerings.
Highlights
Consumers are increasingly being driven to supermarket service stations because they typically offer cheaper fuel prices and enticing promotional campaigns. As shown by Datamonitor research, 13% of motorists in Europe are increasingly refilling at supermarket service stations.
While driving customer footfall at their hypermarkets and supermarkets remains the biggest driver for supermarket fuel retailers, several players in the more mature markets are expanding their fuel offerings in line with changing environmental regulations and consumer demands.
With the entry of discounters, the landscape of the European service station retail industry may change significantly, as they will serve to increase pressure on prices in an already low-margin business. Consequently, traditional fuel retailers will need to balance their prices with their product and service offerings in order to stay competitive.
