You should have no problem. Check the definition of a negative result on the label. Good Studying up! Good luck with the job.

I passed the FIRST CHECK home drug for marijuana and I took a pre-employment screening test, will I pass?
I last smoked weed 70 days ago after smoking for about 6 months continuously. I tested myself a few times with take home tests and they all came back negative, will I pass the gas chromatography/mass spectrometry test for pre-employment screening?

For around $15 you can buy an at home drug screen for THC at Walgreen’s or any large Drug store or pharmacy. These drug tests are every bit as reliable as the ones done in the laboratory. They have the same cut-off levels for a positive test result which is 50ng/ml. The only test that is more accurate is the gas- chromatography/ mass spectrometer test that can detect any amount of a drug in your system. This test is only done when a preliminary test result shows a positive. This as done because the GC/MS test is virtually infallible and will allow them to record the actual levels of a drug in your system.
As was mentioned by another poster, the 30 day rule is not accurate. THC is stored in fat cells, so people who use marijuana very frequently do not process it out of their systems quickly and it ends up building up in fat cells. For a single use, or a less frequent user it would be highly unlikely that their body would store significant enough amounts of THC in the system to show up at the 50ng/ml level after two weeks. I would do an at home test that you purchased from the pharmacy as opposed to ordering them off the internet. The ones you can buy in pharmacies are FDA approved and 99.9% accurate.
As for alerting the authorities, or anyone for that matter, it is completely out of the question. You must sign a release for the information to be given to your potential employer, and no-one who you do not authorize to see the results is allowed to. You are protected by Federal and State laws in this regard, and the police or any one else would need to show a significant public safety interest to even be able to give you a UA, much less get access to one that is not for any purpose other than your potential employer’s insurance company.
Don’t sweat it too much, there are a lot of myths out there on these matters, but you have a better chance than the “moral authorities” will tell you.

You should be fine, it takes a LOT of poppy seeds for it to register on one of those tests. I pigged out on lemon poppyseed muffins before I took a test and I passed just fine.

Pre-employment screening typically is broken into a few different buckets. It may cost you a small fee (say on the order of $30) to get an initial-basic check performed.

For a more in-depth screen, there are established companies that charge upwards of $200 or more. These screens can take 7 to 9 days to complete.

For the internet savvy employer, there are now a few sites that offer free employment screens:

Note: that in order to perform a screen you must follow all regulatory guidelines and must first get an employee’s consent. For more information on the regulations, see http://www.ftc.gov

What are the typical costs associated with pre-employment screening?
Please answer the question above with respect to a small business owner looking to perform a background check on their job applicants. Please be as detailed as possible.

What happens if I fail a pre-employment drug screening in Idaho?
I just moved to the state of Idaho and the employer that has called me for a second interview does a pre-employment drug screening.
I won’t pass the test if I take it, as I smoked 2 weeks ago.
My question is if I fail the test, are they obligated to alert authorities, or is there a record for future employers to see I failed the test?
Also, a website about this would help a LOT!

    Thanks tons!!

There are two main motivators for people: to gravitate toward something attractive and to fear something negative. In your field, the latter would serve you best, especially in the current climate of terrorism, stolen identity, and white collar crime. Emphasize to potential customers that you are a certified and trained firm to weed out the economic and legal horrors associated with hiring an ill-equipped or fraudulent applicant. If helpful, cite examples of what has happened to companies which have not well-screened their employees.

Whole grain pretzels with Poppy Seeds- Will I fail a pre-employment drug screening scheduled in two days?
Yikes. Today I had a small bag of HERR’S Whole Grain Pretzels. One of the ingredients is poppy seeds. In two days I take a pre-employment drug screening test. Will I get a false positive result?
