Charge back the entire fee to the applicant (screening fee) & get the fullest report possible. Background usually encompasses criminal, in addition to credit & rental history. Should not be more that $35 – 40 per applicant. (Background, rental & credit history)

If you end up with a level 1 – 2 sex offender as a tenant, best to be prepared with that up front.

What is the difference between a FULL background check and a credit check?

Does peoplesmart tell people you have ordered a full background check on them?
If you not only search for someone, but pay to get the full background check, is the person notified?

I have spent the last year 2 years researching and testing background check services for a consumer review site (http://www.CompleteReviews.net ) and in that time have run tons of background checks using many different companies. This really depends on what you consider a “full background check” to be. There is only one background check I have found that offers free access.. but it is a free trial for 7 days. You do have to enter a valid credit card to sign up for the free trial but they do not bill anything to your card until the end of the 7 days at which time they assume you wish to continue using the product and they will start billing you. It is very easy to cancel though if you don’t want to stay with it. There background checks are pretty good though not as good as my favorite sites… but hard to beat the price! You can do unlimited free background checks for a week with this trial. Here is a link to their main page where you can learn more if you are interested… http://www.CompleteReviews.net/recommends/beenverified.htm

    Good luck!

NO WHERE, thank the constitution. People have a right to some privacy and there are specific reasons and times their privacy may be breached. I’m thankful that not just any clown with a computer can look at all my information… yet.

I have spent the last year and a half researching and testing background check services for a consumer review site (http://www.CompleteReviews.net ) and in that time have run tons of background checks using many different companies. The best site I have found (most accurate, in-depth and least expensive) is http://www.CompleteReviews.net/recommends/USSEARCH.HTML The only thing is, standard background checks do not report employment history. For that you would need to spend quite a bit of money using a private investigator. The ussearch site I just linked you to has background checks starting at less than $15 for their basic check but it is pretty thorough.

If you want to email me with more detail on what you need the background check for I may be able to provide more specific recommendations. I have been working with background checks for a long time and have learned a lot. My email is admin@completereviews.net.

    Hope that helps!
