Any employer should make sure to include employee background checks in their hiring process. These checks allow employers to have a perfect method for finding out background information about all their applicants. It's information you wouldn't get otherwise! This can be an important step in finding out if someone is the right person for the position.
Employers who decide to skip this important step almost always end up regretting it later. Just running an ordinary background check could allow you to get a full list of information on someone's history. No matter what they did, where they lived, or who they worked for, you'll know about it.

You will pay a small fee for the service, but it's worth it. You have two basic options - paying once for a single background check, and again for each subsequent one, and paying a flat membership fee for unlimited checks. Since the membership is usually only about two or three times what a single report costs, it's the best idea for employers.
Keep in mind that you can use this same process anytime you want to look into someone's background - not just for an employee background check. Whether you need to run a criminal background check on someone or are curious about somebody's past, this will help you get the answer you want.
Any company that's trying to find the right people for their positions should make sure to do background checks on all applicants. This screening process is inexpensive, easy, and effective.

For any software to do the job you said it requires the existence of very large database of information about persons with criminal background. It is very cumbersome task to collect and update this information and so only government law enforcing agencies such as police and judiciaries can afford it. If these government authorities allow access to this information then the software can be developed which will search the database to ensure that the prospective employee does not have any criminal background. In case that person has any criminal back ground then it will furnish all the details. The main problem is permission to access the government database.

Is it date of incident,date of arrest,or date of conviction on a firearm violation

7years form the date on the public record being used
OR
the statute of limitation for the crime which ever is longer
this only applies if the employer is paying an outside service to provide the information.
there are no time limits if the employer finds the information themselves by searching public records.

get your job history at the social security office. Background check cost me $85 at the police station, more for the interstate.
