How much money is spent on lawyers, legal fees, and litigation each year in the U.S.?
I would be curious about this as a percentage of GDP, as well, and possibly broken down by kinds of law—criminal, intellectual property, civil, etc.

Lawyers want to serve their client’s interests. Whether litigation serves the client’s interest will depend upon the facts of an individual case.

When winning a civil litigation case, is it a gamble like other lawyers say?
I believe that if one has convincing evidence, the person to win will be the one with the most convincing evidence. But my lawyers say that it is a gamble and that people whio are innocent lose and people who are guilty can also win. They say that judges are not that good in claims courts, but what do you think? Is it true that it is a gamble?

1.) What are 12 random people off the street going to believe? (sometimes the jury is 8 people in civil).
2.) Do you know every single technicality of law? If you trip on one you might loose.
3.) You are bias in favor of yourself. They say “A lawyer that represents himself has a fool for a client.”
Yes, it is a gamble. It is always a gamble. Trial law is incredibly hard. It is one thing to say stuff and quite another to say it when you’re under pressure and a judge is looking at you and a jury.
It is absolutely a gamble. The law is not black and white in a courtroom. Who knows how a witness will portray him or herself to the jury. Who knows how the judge will come out on a rule of evidence.
