The only way that I know to get a 50 state criminal record check is to run a FBI check and then look at the individual states that show criminal records. Some states allow criminal history checks online. In Michigan it is called ichat and it can be located at the State of Michigan website

Will an arrest by the FBI show up on an employee background check if the charges were dropped?
I was falsely arrested 4+ years ago by the FBI for a felony, but was never indicted and charges were dropped. Will the arrest show up on a criminal background check by a potential employer? If so, what is the process of getting a record of this arrest expunged?

Not sure about Lowe’s, but most retail companies, perform them annually or bi-annually, better to ask your human resource department.

It depends on the source, I would recomend buying a $15 background check on yourself to see what comes up. This will give you a very good general idea of what information an employer will see.

I recomend http://www.easybackgroundchecks.com , they offer excellent results for an good price.

if the employer goes through the process them self then YES they can (these are public records that are used). most employers do not have the time or data base to do this themselves which is why they pay to have it done (generally).

if they pay for the service then a release must be signed prior to the report being obtained, which is actually a release for the company performing the search.
the information garnered can not be used to make a derogatory employment decision prior to you receiving a copy and having any inaccuracies corrected. this falls under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Can an employer check an employee’s criminal background without authorization?
I worked somewhere for 2 years. The day before firing me they ran my criminal background and are using it against me. Can they do that without consent or if they never had me fill out an employment application?
