Nope. There is no such thing as free. You could call your local sheriff’s dept. and they may tell you if it’s you. If you have a cop as a friend, they could find out for ya.

    How does a criminal charges/sentence form/outline look?
I’m doing a project for my graphics class and have an idea for it but and I’m having a hard time searching for a basic outline for form on a criminal charges/sentence. I have not clue how they look or if there is a proper name of this documentation.

Does anyone know the proper name for this kind of paper work/documents? Or know of a link of a scanned one? Or even know the list of things that are normal laid out on these forms?

Is this in state court or in federal court? In state court, the Iowa sentencing scheme is “indeterminent,” meaning, that execpt for low-level crimes where a sentence is for less than a year, the court sentences only to a range of punishments; the parole board determines your actual release date based on individual factors. You can find the range in the Iowa Statutes
    Iowa Code section 902.9 (general)
If you have a particular offense or charge, you can look that up in the Iowa Code as well.

If the sentence is federal — i.e. in United States District Court, that sentence is covered by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. It’s a complicated manual with additions for aggravating “factors” and deductions for mitigating factors, and then you get a number for the offense level, and a roman numeral for your criminal history, and that results in a range. You can find more about that at the U.S. Sentencing Commission’s website:

Is a traffic ticket considered a criminal charges or proceedings?
I am applying for a job and on the background it asks, “Have you been issued a summons, citation, or ticket to appear in court in a criminal proceeding against you; are you on trial or awaiting a trial on criminal charges; or are you currently awaiting sentencing for a criminal offense?”

I have a couple traffic tickets…They are mostly all speeding. Nothing to crazy. Would I have to answer yes to the question or is it no? any help would be great thx!

Some states process them civilly or as a quasi-criminal offense.

Contrary to what some have stated misdemeanors are crimes but lessor than a felony, and infractions are less than a misdemeanor.

However most applications that I have seen exclude traffic infractions. Either way I don’t think it’s a huge deal. Or you can answer no and use the explanation line to disclaim *except for minor traffic violations*

three to five. no big deal. unless they can prove intent, then the penalty is much worse.
