*Still* depends on the crime. Most misdemeanors are going to be a year or so, felonies may be as long as a decade.

No you cant go to jail, but it will screw up your credit and they can take you to court, which means additional fines and court cost for you.

It means the offender has done something that warrants upping the sentence.

Both felonies and misdemeanors. When a crime is committed, and the accused is served an indictment, they go on trial in the state that the crime was committed.

But you should also know that any case tried in a state can also be tried on a federal level. This means that if you were accused of a crime, you could be tried at your county court house and in a federal court. This is not considered double jeopardy because the people reviewing the cases are different, and both of their jurisdictions are original.

In a Texas criminal court case what does enhancement mean?
Can someone give me an explanation on enhancement? I asked a question last week about my Burglary of a Habitation case and the fact that I have 2 previous felonies. Two people responded to me talking about enhancement. I want to know what is that and also is that why the case is 2-20. Help I am confused and when I go to court I don’t want any surprises.
