It doesn’t matter what you major in because you will need to go to law school after you finish undergrad.
Therefore, major in something that is of interest to you.
The important thing is to get very good grades so you get into a good law school.

Honestly, it doesn’t really matter what courses you take to get yourself to law school. Sure, if you want to be a corporate lawyer, having a basic working knowledge of that world will help, but it’s not necessary.
For example, I’ve worked in commercial litigation for three years, and I have a BA in Philosophy, and no formal training in the business world. On the other hand, I’m (a) a pretty good attorney, and (b) very good with contracts. I can assure you, I didn’t know the first thing about contracts or property (real & intangible) before I got to law school.
On the other hand, my undergraduate degree did prepare me for law school, because I learned how to think in an organized manner, and to look at problems from more than one or two vantages.
As a side note, many law schools look for nontraditional majors (music, math, arts, the sciences) in their applicants; if you have a love/aptitude for any of these fields, you might want to consider some coursework in that direction. If nothing else, you’ll enjoy your time in college more if you’re studying something you truly love.

You’re looking at 7 years of college. 4 years doing regular university studies. During this time you can study a wide variety of subjects.. Focusing on prelaw and business would not be a bad idea for a corporate lawyer. And then 3 years of law school.
Salaries can vary a lot depending on what kind of company you work for and in what part of the country.. Anywhere from $50-$100K to start.. it just depends…
Don’t do anything because of how much money you can make. Do it because you like it.

I want to become a corporate lawyer. What courses should I take in my undergrad?
My plan is to attend the University of Alberta. As you may already know, it is not written in stone which courses you take in your undergrad. However, I am planning in enrolling in the Bachelor of commerce program with a major in Business Economics & Law. After this 5 year program, I will be taking a 3 year program with studies in law which will pretain to being a corporate lawyer.
Am I making a good choice? Please give me your opinion.
