As we go through life, it is important to stay away from trouble and to keep our background history clean so that you allow yourself the best chance to get the best jobs and best places to live. Most employers and home lenders will conduct a background check to see if you are a worthy enough individual for the job or for the place to live. In addition, when you have a felony on your record you are never allowed to register to vote ever again. Many rights and liberties are taken away when you have a mark on your background history. For those who are doing the background check, there are different ways to go about this.
There are countless reasons why one would conduct a background check on a certain individual. A background check will say a lot about the character of the particular civilian who is applying for a job or looking for a new home. When someone has a history or a record, it is nice to be able to know what the offense was so to be able to know if this person is a individual you want to qualify. In order to do a proper assessment of a potential employee or customer, one must be able to know as much as they can about the person they are analyzing. A background check is a great way to get vital information about a certain person.
The best thing to do in order to conduct a background check is to go online. One can hire a specific company or individual to perform all their background checks for them but it is easier just to do it yourself and online. It is a little bit cheaper as well. There are many different websites one can got to in order to do a background check. When you have found the best background check service for you, you will have to pay a certain membership fee. It usually isn't very expensive, something like twenty to fifty dollars for unlimited access. It is well worth the money though when you are about to hire a seemingly nice person and you realize that they are a rogue criminal who is after nothing but to destroy your business.
Doing a background check is super important because it helps eliminate stress and worry about a strange individual you know nothing about. When you know a person's history, you feel better about the person because you fell like you know them a bit better then if you didn't know anything about them. Conducting backgrounds checks not only allows for the best possible candidates to stand out, but it also showcases the character of the prospected person. Since so much can lay on a background check, it is a really good idea to to keep a clean background history. By performing a background check on someone, you can see if the individual you are doing a background check on is a good enough person to be on your staff or live in your home.

I do. I give very thorough background checks, and charge no fee.
But I only check girls with nice backgrounds.

There are a number of local background and payroll check companies that you will find. Always go local.
As a property manager of two decades, I would also:
Do a name search on the internet.
Make sure you are really speaking with a valid landlord for a reference check. If the you feel like you might be speaking to a fake friend over the phone, ask to meet with that person at the location, then also ask the neighbors of that tenant. (We found a lifelong San Quentin Inmate that way, he was temporarily parolled and committed another murder. He had his sister pretend to be his landlord. The neighbors all confirmed that he had never lived there.)
Always check the county court listings around your area. Use the four nearest counties, then search by last name at all their websites.
By doing this, you will indeed find tenants with messed up lives. The good news is that these folks actually tend to be better at paying their rent on time than most. They never want to look for another place to live.
The bigger issue is that you are looking for the paralegals. Paralegals are great. Then there are the paralegals who know all the renting laws and know how to make your life miserable and destroy your property and finances all too well.
Check references. It is always the tenant that you failed to check that destroys your world. Good luck.
