Lawyers specializing in US immigration law are going to be found in the United States, and they do represent people outside the United States.

I have used Rick Gump, Jr. out of Dallas, Texas. Mr. Schusterman out of Los Angeles is good too. But they are both costly.

How to find a good immigration lawyer? help!!!?
I have a situation that needs much attention but is an easy task as I have everything laid out already.
My current lawyer has been pretending to do his job for months and the result is that my fiance and I have completed all of the visa requirements ourselves. I have so many questions that I do not trust this man to answer! We are out of time to be second guessing his every sentence. He is also not usually an immigration lawyer so this should have been expected.
[I am supposed to fly away from the U.S. in 22 days but now am threatened with extending that to another year.. I want to be with my fiance..]
I am looking for a new lawyer but don’t know how to find recommendations. I am in the U.S. and general modes of research are useless. I am trying to do as much on my own to let my fiance rest from this horror we are dealing with and to pick up on the time difference.
Any suggestions? We are in the Melbourne area.. groups of lawyers? websites with suggestions? I am so lost and distressed here!
Thank you! But AILA is for U.S. lawyers we are looking for one in Melbourne Australia. Any other suggestions?

There are many immigration lawyers in United States who can advise you.

American immigration law does not recognize same-sex marriages.

Therefore, if your spouse and you are both legally females, you may not be able to emigrate to USA because USA federal law recognizes only marriage between a man and a woman.

While your spouse is still legally male/opposing sex, you should be able to obtain an immigrant or spousal visa.

    Immigrating on spousal visa?
I got married to a MTF who has not yet had her surgeries and has got no specific date that she is going to get them done. The judge at Milwaukee court house married us as I am natural born female and she as far as can be seen by law is still male until after her surgeries.

She has started to get her identification changed to female even though she has not had her surgeries yet. (I don’t know how that is possible but her drivers liscence says female even though her birth certificate still says male and her legal name change order does not change that fact)

I heard recently that it was possible to go for a spousal visa based on my marriage to this particular person. Because even though she is legally female she does still have all the body parts related to a man. I’m wondering if anyone knows a few things.

    1. Is this true?

    2. Is there any immigration lawyers in the United States that would help me to get in on the basis of my marriage and how do I find them?

I am currently living in Melbourne, Australia and really want to be with my “husband” to look after her and be with her but I don’t know how to go about it. Please help me.
Just adding to this piece. I am a female, I was born that way. She is currently a male transitioning to female.
