That’s a pretty far-fetched situation with a 10 year old girl working for the Secret Service and participating in murder and extreme violence. I don’t think any explanation or background would make me believe the US government would put a 10 year old girl in such danger. Maybe if you made her just a little older, even 20 years old would be easier to believe. It’s hard to continue reading any story if you just don’t believe the premise. The story is also hard to read because the dialogue all runs together and you are not sure who is speaking at the time. If you have to stop all the time to figure out who is talking, the story gets boring really quick.

help with colors please? ?
I have walnut wood, with a beige sofa and chair. I have iron accents and botanical theme(I have 4 pictures of ferns above the sofa in black floating frames with a shelf below them with 4 votive, tan candles in clear glass) I have two lamps that are black with fern green shades on each side of my sofa and next to the chair I have a black floor lamp with a glass shade. Also on my sofa I have matching beige, fern green, and sunny yellow pillows and a fern green throw.
In my hallway I have a iron/glass top sofa table with a black mirror above it with iron sconces with yellow candles in them on each side of the mirror.
In the dinning area I have a walnut counter height, square dinning set. Near by I have an iron baker’s rack. On top of the table I have fern green place mats that match the fern green pillows from the sofa and sunny yellow cloth napkins.
Now my question is would adding the color amber be too much or clash? I really like the color of glass amber but I’m afraid I’ll have to ditch the yellow that I have now.
Amber glass accents is the more yellow tones, not redish.
There’s these 2 floor hurricanes I would like to get to go next to my TV stand but they come in clear glass also, so I’ll probably stick with the clear.
I should read “in” instead of “is”. Sorry, sounded like I was correcting you on what amber was, sorry. I meant “in”.

Opinions on my story?
This is the first chapter of my story, please comment and give me your constructive criticism!
It’s been two years. She’s been free for two years damn it! Now this happens? No, she’s going to get things straighten out, now. “Chris! What the hell does this mean?” she screamed angrily into her phone while holding the letter she received only an hour ago. “Calm down Athena.”
“Calm down? You said I was free, now you send me this piece of shit? Oh no, I don’t think you have the right to tell me to calm down.”“Look, I don’t know what you’re talking about, please, just calm down and listen to me.” “I called to get an answer, and if you don’t give me one, I swear, I’m going to hurt you…” “You know threatening an officer of the law is against the law.” He said calmly.
“I don’t give a damn.” She spat at her phone. “Well you should. Now listen. I don’t know what you’re talking about. I didn’t send you any letter.” “Then what the hell is this in my hand?”
“I don’t know. Are you sure someone from the agency send it to you?” “Oh yeah, and you signed it too. I’d recognize your signature anywhere you prune.” She growled. “Bring it in, I’ll see you in my office in an hour.” “Oh no, I’m not going anywhere near that damn place ever again. Either you come to me or….” “Or what? You don’t have any of the rights you had before. You don’t give the orders, I do. Now come over to the firm by the next hour.” Ringing filled her ears. That bastard is making her go back to that dreadful place again, and she can do nothing but listen to him. Going to the counter, she wrote a note for her parents and grabbed the keys. Scowling, she headed towards the door to the garage.
“Ok, I’m here, now explain this to me.” She said angrily as she threw the letter across the table. Christopher decided to ignore her rudeness and took the letter. The drive from her parent’s house to this damn firm felt like forever, even though it only took her twenty minutes. “If that’s not your signature, I need a new pair of glasses, and I just got these two days ago.” Her arms crossed, she sat across from her former boss. He was pretending to be interested with the letter, when they both knew he doesn’t need to. Well, yep. I sent you the letter, but with orders. You know I don’t want to bother you Athena.” He said, trying to sound sweet. He knew her temper and she can blow any minute now.“Oh, cut the crap Chris. Tell me what this means!” she demanded.“It means exactly what it says.”“But that’s not possible, I quit, you and everybody else witnessed it! I’m finally free and you want to pull me back into this?” “I’m sorry Athena, but we really need you.” He said with a sigh as he stared at her. Her eyes were ablaze with anger, again. With what? What’s so important that needs me?” “The Amulet of Isis from the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C has been stolen, and the curator was murdered through the robbery.” “And?” “He was also the cousin of the President of the United States.” “I still don’t get why you need me.” She crossed her legs then, showing him that she’s not taking any of this crap. “Because you were our best, and you are our best.” “I don’t understand what a 15 year old girl can do.” She said, annoyed. She wanted a normal life. All the running, all the chasing, all the murdering, she wanted to end it. She finally got her wish two years ago, when she just turned 13. The CIA and the FBI finally let her go, she was finally free. 2 years wasn’t enough though, she didn’t want to get into this again. Cut the crap Athena, you’re aware that you’re not like everybody else. You need to except that and quit whining about it. When we recruited you 5 years ago, you agreed, with eagerness and excitement to join us. Then you decided to quit on us when you were at the height at your career, and now you refuse to come back when we need you the most. I don’t want to hear how you love being a normal teenager with all your school stuff and friends, and etcetera. The day you signed that document, joining the American Government Secret Services, you belong with us. It doesn’t matter that you quit, it doesn’t matter what you do because we need you, and we are the law and you need to obey us.” Then what’s the Constitution for? It’s a free country. If I don’t want to help, then I won’t help, you can’t make me.” She growled, her brown eyes flashing. She still had nightmares about what happened two years ago, and she’s not going to let it happen again to her. Athena.” He’s wary now. He doesn’t want to argue with her, he knows all too well how stubborn she is. “Please, we beg you. We’ll pay you. This is the last thing we’ll ever ask of you to do. Please.” He said gently now, pleading.I’m sorry Chris, but nothing can change my mind.”“Even if the President himself requests you to help?”

Family Christmas present – gathering table?
Our current dining set is over 14 years old. Solid glass table and 6 chairs. We have 2 kids, ages 10 and 15. Thinking of getting a counter height “gathering” table with chairs instead of the full size dining table. Any one have any experience with these. I like the idea of a leaf to add more space as needed.
