Does anyone know how I can extend two counter high chairs to bar height?
Do they sell like chair extenders anywhere? We just bought a dining room set that has 8 chairs, but only have it set up for 6 right now. I’d like to be able to use the two extra chairs for our bar, but they are currently too short. Right now they are counter height, but I’d like to make them bar height. Any ideas that won’t look too tacky? I know they sell extenders to raise your bed height, so I was curious if they had something like that for chairs… Thanks!

How to protect the foot rest on counter height kitchen chairs?
We’ve just purchased a kitchen set that is counter height and sitting in the chairs requires our feet to be resting on the bottom rail. Over time this will cause a lot of wear. What kind of product could I put on the bottom rail to protect it. I was thinking that someone should make a clear plastic piece of some sort that could snap over the top of the 3/4″X2″ wood rail. I might be able to improvise using a 1″ piece of clear tubing that is use with aquariums or something like that, but just looking for ideas.

Crib rail protectors for teething . It’s rubber and you can cut it to size with a utility knife.
Something like this, but you can buy it at other places like target as well.

I had a breakfast bar with bar stools and it was practical in the mornings and at lunch time as could get the food put out on the bar in a hurry. But i would never want to sit down to a family meal at the breakfast bar. It was an effort to get on the stools and down again.

What is your opinion of having a counter-height dining table?
I’m searching for a dining furniture set for my home which would include the table, chairs, and some sort of buffet or hutch. I’ve seen a few sets where the table is counter height and the chairs are actually “bar stools.”
Does anyone have experience using these higher dining tables and chairs? And what are your opinions of them? Are there any benefits or shortcomings when compared to traditional dining furniture?
