Friction Calls for Wild Turkeys

Calling a turkey is both an art & a science. Not only do you've to understand the physical properties of your call, & how they're affected by the weather, but you also need to get to know the nuances of your calls & sharpen your skills to make every call right realistic touch. It can take anywhere from 1 hour to a day to teach turkey calls, but it'll take a lifetime to master the art of making calls. 1 of the easiest types of calls for a beginner to learn is friction calls.

Friction calls are composed of 2 separate pieces, a striker & a pot. There are almost an infinite variety of materials from these friction can make calls. Many of them are once again a proof, but youll find that the humidity in the tone of your calls affect friction.

Pot of friction call is often of slate, aluminium or glass. The main material is enclosed in a small pot so that you can stick with it & not destroy the vibrations. It is also important to get the right tip of friction calls. While the strikers are often overlooked, they're actually extremely important to successful call. Most striking are three, but the hard wood & soft wood make different sounds. If the length of the tip affects the pitch of the call, a shorter tip has a higher pitch. Even if you only carry a pot with you, 3 or 4 different strikers to create different types of call.
