Exterminating Bed Bugs - Effective Tips To Eradicating Bed Bugs At Home

Author: Brian Given

When it comes to exterminating bed bugs, the situation can be extremely troublesome to deal with which is why so many people choose to go with professional services instead. However, these services can be expensive so learning how to do it yourself can save you a lot of money. Here are effective methods to get you started in getting rid of these bothersome insects.

One of the first things to do is first identify where the source of the infestation is so that you can focus your attention there. The worst part about delaying action is that the colony or nest of these bugs can easily multiply in weeks if not dealt with immediately. This means that more of these bugs will be found in your home which will ultimately result in more bites.

Once you have identified the source, the first thing you need to do is vacuum your room including your mattress in order to get rid of bugs that may still be lingering in addition to eggs that may have already been laid. For maximum benefit, you may even want to use a spray on your mattress and inside cracks in case they have managed to get away from the vacuum.

Be sure to use these methods for several days in exterminating bed bugs and if you're still not successful, then you may need to hire a professional service. Even then, this is no guarantee that these insects will not enter your home as you can unknowingly carry them in your luggage while traveling. When choosing an exterminator, be sure to choose one that has a track record of proven success.

Yes, it came from the other apartment.
All of the apartments have to be exterminated in order to get rid of bed bugs.

I don’t think so. They are probably in other apts. and would soon come back, and the cycle would go on and on. However, call the Ontario Government department that looks after the Landlord and Tenancy Act for advice. I think they can force the landlord to take steps to fumigate all apartments in the building. An exception might be a very small building.
The City government might also be interested and have advice.
Of course, you haven’t said whether he reported it to the landlord. A good landlord would want to do something about it, provided he knows about it.

Clothes must be washed to exterminate all bedbugs and their eggs as bedbugs can lay eggs in fabrics not just beds, this is the reason the exterminator has instructed you to wash your clothes and linens Good Luck !

Use a steam cleaner. Pay particular attention to the seams. move along the surface of the matress slowly to allow the steam to do it’s thing. Do the box spring as well. Wash all linens in hot water and dry in a hot dryer. Good luck

Why do we have to wash all clothing when exterminating bed bugs?
We have bed bugs in our house and we’re getting the company to come and to exterminate them. We are told to wash all of our clothing before the process and to put them in standard bags. But I think it sounds stupid to wash everything, since it’s so much of stuff!! How can those chemicals or whatever they’re going to spray there affect our clothing? Can we leave them open during the process and wash them after?
Yes. Why do we have to wash everything before extermination? Wouldn’t it be better to wash them right after they finish, so the chemicals kill the bugs and then we wash clothing?
