iv. These are applied to the surfaces or areas where bed bugs are found or may be found like the wooden furniture, cuts & crevices in the bed, etc.
v. These are made of pyrethoids, that are formulated synthetically and / or from the natural extracts of the chrysanthemum flowers.
vi. These substances emit a certain smell that knocks out the bed bugs instantly.
vii. However, these substances also some times fail as the bed bugs develop the repelling properties and / or characteristics that can be used against the substance.
viii. Therefore, using contact insecticides does not necessarily imply to killing the bed bugs.
ix. They only prevent the bed bugs to come near the surface where ever pesticide is applied.

b. Insect Growth Regulators (IGR)

i. Another common element in the long list of the pesticides used to eliminate bed bugs from the house, this pesticide doesn't directly target the adults or the crawling bed bugs.

iii. The IGRs affect & directly exterminate the eggs or the newly hatched bed bugs known as nymphs.
iv. The development of the eggs & young bed bugs gets hindered & stalled.
v. So no further generation of the bed bugs would then follow up next.
vi. The IGR application is a very slow process of eradicating bed bugs completely.
vii. Never the less they are quite effective.
viii. Undoubtedly one would have to wait and is sure to get good results.

c. Insecticidal Dusts

i. The insecticidal dusts are one that top the list as they can directly be applied and / or spayed to the bed bugs.
ii. This insecticide is comprised of and / or conveyed in to dusts that directly aims the crawling bed bugs.

We had a bad infestation, but finally we got rid of bed bugs with the magical powder after spending a lot of time and money on those “UNPROFESSIONAL” exterminators.

We did have a so-called “professional” exterminator but they had to come back several times because the bed bugs did not go away with the stuff that “PRO” did. And finally we fed up with the”PRO” and tried sprays, foggers, and bomb….. but bed bugs were still biting us every night.

Then we found BedBugPowder from the site below. It is 100% natural power and is safe to humans and pets. Just apply it on the mattress and carpet in the infected room, and bed bugs are gone.

I could not believe the powder worked so efficiently after struggling with all the stuff that people said it should work.

The sprays do not work unless you spray directly on the bed bugs. And they are very good at hiding, so when you spray the stuff or either the professional guy do their stuff, bed bugs are hiding in the “SAFE” place and wait till night comes.

Go to the site below and you will learn a lot tips to get rid of bed bugs. And the powder does work!!! It is great and we have not had bedbug bites since we started using it.

I wish we could find the powder before we wasted all the money…..
But hope it helps your place.

    Good luck!

Throw away the bed. Difficult to kill them.. Go to a specialised shop in town for the best insecticide.

For bed bugs? Take off all linens and freeze them for 24 hours and/or wash them in the hottest water possible. Do the same with any clothing in the room. Steam clean the mattress all over as well as the carpets. Vacuum in mattress seams, corners and drawers and freeze the vacuum bag. These steps will kill many of them for you off the bat.
Most pesticides contain the ingredients (dichlorvos, permethrin and malathion) to get rid of the rest, but bedbugs are VERY persistent and good at hiding. Best bet is to call the Orkin man.

One good step is prevention. A bedbug can live a year without food (you). Don’t make it easy on them. Isolate your bed the best you can to keep them from feeding on you.

Get an exterminator in there as quickly as possible so the chemicals that are used will be gone before the baby arrives. Also let the exterminator know that you sister is pregnant so he will use non toxic chemcials. Good luck.

Bed bugs live in the bedding. Keep the sheets, blankets and bedspread laundered and the problem will go away. Spray something like Lysol, or even a diluted bleach mixture, on the bare mattress.
