Vin02 Wine Aerator and Wine Pump

What is a Wine Aerator?

A wine aerator is a compact hand-held pour-through piece of equipment for aerating wines. These types of devices blend air into the wines as it passes through the device, maximizing contact with oxygen and resulting in aeration. They provide an alternative solution to swirling, decanting, and also to aldouze "waiting  for wine to breathe".Youthful vintages in particular need aeration or breathing to become palatable.

Injection-style aerators function by utilizing the Bernoulli principle: they have a wide tube that narrows. This effect is actually widely used in engineering applications.

The Vin02 has been engineered to maximize the above mentioned affect. I have used a number of wine aerators on the market and the vin02 aerates the wine better than any. The air wine mix is maximized by the angle of the narrowing tube. The hiss that is produced by the device as the wine is poured confirms the aeration process.

In the end the device cannot make a bad wine good, but it can definitely make it better. A good wine can be drunk alot earlier. The decanting time is reduced exponentially.

After opening a bottle wine, the oxidation process begins. As was explained above oxidation/aeration is great for a wine in the short term. However after it has been well oxygynated you need to drink that wine. What if we could stop that process and allow a wine to store for much longer once it has been opened.

The wine pump is the tool for the job. It will remove all the air out of the opened bottle of wine and stop the "decanting" process. Once the air has been removed you just use the little rubber stopper to keep the bottle air tight.

I love these 2 products. They do the job they were designed for perfectly. When I originally started using the vin02 products I would only use them for the cheaper wines as I thought that long slow decantering method was slightly supperior and a "godd/expensive wine deserved that. Now I have changed my thinking, I use it on all my wines red and white.

I am a long time wine buff. My friends call me a wine snob. This is not strictly true as I drink good scotch and a irish whisky also. I have also been known to throw down a chilled carona on a hot day ;)
