Serene Goa Beaches

By admin On July 2, 2010 Under food and wine

See the Sunny South:

Down South, in northern Karnataka, is the small town of Gokarna. This little beachside town is famous for its ‘Om' shaped beach, peace, tranquility and exotic sunsets.

Spend a night or two in the luxurious Swaswara resort and get in touch with your spiritual self while you are treated to world-class healthy food and activities designed to appeal to all your senses.

Apart from this, there are plenty of shacks along the beach that cater to backpackers and travelers on a limited budget.

Sun, sand, sea and sangrias on Paradise Beach will definitely push you into that holiday mode and make you want to sing Bob Marley's " Sun is Shining" while walking along the long coastline of Canacona ( Palolem ) in South Goa.

From spotting dolphins to renting jet skis, learning yoga to dabbling in tai chi, eating at the wonderful restaurants to learning to cook Goan food, Palolem has it all.  Café Del Mar is a popular nightspot and restaurant in Palolem that is a must visit.

Noisy North? Not.

The beaches in the North are mostly known for their "off-the-hook" parties and a non-stop line up of cheap and affordable cocktails.

However, this summer, avoid the beaten path and check out the more uncommon places that will definitely be worth your time.

Chapora River is home to some beautiful backwaters and an estuary that meets the ocean.

On one side of the river, Fort Chapora is a perfect lookout spot on top of a peninsula that gives you a panoramic view of land and sea. Grab a picnic basket filled with some short eats, something to drink, a sheet to sit on or a good read and spend an entire afternoon relaxing.

On the other side of the river is a quiet, less popular beach called Morjim Beach. A large and scarcely populated beach stocked with beach shacks and activities, Morjim attracts everyone from families to nudists who want to indulge in Sun bathing, jet skiing, kite skiing and rides on house boats.

A quick bike ride north will bring you to the Arambol beach. This part of Goa is very famous for its local and global music scene. This picturesque place is a postcard representation of Goa.

Tips:

While Goa is the most popular beach paradise of mainland India, getting around at night can be very difficult if you do not have your own transportation.

Most of the public service vehicles stop services before 10pm leaving you stuck if you're not prepared.

Try and book your rooms well in advance to avoid the hassle of looking for one when you get there.

Or simply call Oasis Holidays to custom design your holiday the way you want.
