Pick the Right Wedding Wine For Your Next Wedding Toast

And probably they would be right, simply because this is the traditional choice for the wedding toasts. However there are many weddings where regular, good quality wines have been used instead with great success. But how do you know which wine to choose for that toast?

First of all you can ask a caterer for their opinion. If you get to talk with an experienced person, he or she will be able to give you great tips on a few good ones to samples. Of course there is always the issue that no two people agree on what is the best when it comes to tastes. However there are some characteristics that make a wine better than others in the minds and taste buds of individuals.

It also depends on what menu will be served. For example, if you have a heavy meal with extra flavors involved, you need to go with a heavier red wine that is more complex and full bodied. When serving beef you can never go wrong with Cabernet Sauvignon or a well done Bordeaux. If you go with something like fish, a white wine such as the Sauvignon Blanc will be more appropriate. This also goes with aperitifs such as salads, various egg preparations, or chicken.

And what about rose? This is a rather fruity and crisp type of wine that is not sweet and it goes well with salads, various fish types such as tuna and salmon, with poultry, pork and sirloin. You can use rose whether the temperature is warmer or colder and it is a drink served often at weddings.

Another aspect is regarding the time of the year when the wedding celebration is held. An outdoor celebration in the middle of summer will warrant something light and refreshing such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Gris, or a dry rose. Heaver wines go well for colder winter temperatures.
