So the countdown to your Big Day has begun.  If you are like most brides, this is going to be the most important day of your life. You naturally want to look your best for your wedding pictures and decide to go on a weight loss diet to lose some extra pounds.  In this article, you will learn some top wedding diet tips in order to avoid certain pitfalls when trying to lose weight.

Firstly, choose a diet plan that is nutritionally-balanced which will give you lots of energy for the busy times ahead in planning a wedding.  Don’t go for fad diets which usually only lead to temporary weight loss due to loss of water weight as opposed to body fat.

Secondly, watch your portion size.  Don’t supersize your meals even if your plate is full of healthy foods.  Did you know that consuming just a mere 100 calories a day more than what you need would add an extra 10 pounds to your weight in a year?

In addition, don’t deprive yourself of adequate sleep.  A normal adult requires about 7-8 hours of sleep every night.  When you are sleep-deprived, your tiredness makes it harder to deal with stress and to concentrate on eating right; plus you definitely won’t be motivated to exercise!

Last but not least, keep distractions to a minimum when you are eating.  Don’t make the mistake of eating in front of the television or whilst you are working or when chatting on the phone to a friend etc.  Practise conscious-eating.  Pay attention to what you are putting into your mouth; otherwise, you can easily eat more than you intended to if your mind is elsewhere.
