Is Monavie A Scam?

By admin On June 18, 2010 Under food and wine

Well, first of all let me start by saying that not all business opportunities are scams. In fact, because the majority fail at any online business opportunity, rather than look to themselves for reasons they failed, the opportunity itself is labelled a 'scam'. Right across the online home based business economy, you will find that there is a 97% failure rate regardless of which MLM network marketing company is involved. The inevitable cries of 'scam' by those who have failed have frequently been made worse by some less than scrupulous ditributors' income claims.

So, having got that out of the way, let's take a look at the MonaVie opportunity:

Based in Salt Lake City, the Network Marketing company Monavie sell acai berry juice drinks at $45 per 25 ounce bottle. The company was incorporated by Dallin Larsen who had plenty of experience in the direct sales market and wanted to be able to share the health advantages of the acai berry with the wider population.

However the distinctive selling point of Monavie is that instead of just a juice drink that contains acai berry, a further 19 different fruits were picked out and included within the drink's ingredients. The claimed advantage of containing more antioxidants and other goodies than other competing drinks is the unique selling point of Monavie Active Formula. No independent verification of these claims has yet been made at the time of writing.

There is definitely no doubting the excellence of the product which is conveyed all the more so by the wine bottle type packaging to create that 'premium' feel. The number of people willing to say good things about Monavie are numerous, although I wasn't able to find any users who didn't also appear to be distributors; Finding a user who wasn't a distributor would have perhaps stopped me thinking that all these testimonials had ulterior motives. It may be this part that is most revealing about the Monavie opportunity.

Breaking into the Health & Wellness market with new products is relatively easy for new manufacturers. Whilst there are other products on the market at a small percentage of the cost, Monavie continues with its 'premium' product selling at around $45 for a 25 ounce bottle. It seems that distributors are certain to be the most likely users, unless someone really does believe this product is worth the tenfold premium. There could be good reason for this; that they were so impressed by the product they just had to become a distributor! I'll let you decide on that last point...

This venture has both pros and cons depending on your circumstances. If you've been around the block a few times in the MLM industry and are sure of your methods then you could be a big winner with this opportunity. However, if you're just beginning, then for a number of reasons this is possibly not the best opportunity for you unless you are plugged into a very good proven marketing system and have a good mentor.

The whole reason you're doing looking at business opportunities like this is to earn money, so look into the current commission plan thoroughly. How big a network must you build to genuinely make a decent income? How are you going to market the products and the opportunity being offered? No product no matter what anyone says about its quality will sell itself.

In summary, investing in a proven online marketing system that will generate leads for your MLM business is going to be imperative to your success. Getting decent training is also going to be key to your success which you should take responsibility for and forever be the student. If you don't, you are almost certain to join the 97% of failures in the MLM industry irrespective of the company you join.
